I've been playing bf4 since it came out and I still don't understand some of the symbols displayed on the map. Like when a line connects you to 3+ flags or when there is a I think blue circle around a flag. I just played for the first time in a few weeks and the have added even more like 40hz. Is there a website that explains these things because DICE sure does not.

Had to look this up because you're right, DICE didn't explain them. Simple text below the "HEY THESE SYMBOLS ARE IMPORTANT" when connecting to high tickrate servers would have gone a long way.

Those symbols are more for DICE when a customer complains about a performance issue and posts a video.

On the map when you have mutliple lines I think that happens if you are squad leader and have orders set plus the commander has issued orders. If they're different they both show. Marks around the flag are orders. One color is commander, the other is your squad orders.

Yes/no.

4 of the issue can indicate problems you can possibly fix, some very easily. Low frame rate/hz for example is tied to tick rate effectiveness. If you're squeezing performance (visual) for frame rate you might be hurting the benefits of high tick rate. Turning stuff down a notch will help.

Packet loss/latency indicates a network issue you can maybe correct.

I want to say I can feel a difference, but it's hard to say. 60 does seem better, but 50 is where I notice it. I can't tell the difference between 30 and 40.

While using Ultra settings 60Hz servers ran smooth, but 120Hz's were a total lagfest until I lowered my settings to get my average rate around 150fps. Now 120Hz servers are freaking awesome! I just played some Domination and I felt like I was back playing Quake 3 Arena, running circles around everyone. Hits were registering like they should and there was no mystery about where I was getting hit from. That was hands down the best gaming experience Ive ever had playing any Battlefield game as far as responsiveness and fluidity is concerned. I should also note that there was no one in the server with a ping over 70. I need to test this some more but its hard to find populated 120Hz servers.

Well hello Mr. Deathdealer, this is JTDSR. We spent a LOT of time on the RUF TDM 24/7 Noshahr Canals server in BF3. I wish they would remake that map for BF4, although I feel my time is very short being that Battlefront is dropping tonight.

They are remaking it,its in CTE atm.I haven't gotten about playing it myself but from the looks of it i think it's going to be the TDM map yet again to play.

They should just remake all the BF2 maps. They should actually just release a complete remake called BF2 RELOADED! I'd buy it and play the crap out of it just to use artillery again and blow up stuff that actually mattered with C4 instead of putting holes in walls for no damn reason.

As Eng/repair/w-Stinger/Saiga, I NEVER bailed out of an attack chopper. I tried to never fly w/ anyone but one of my 'friends'/great pilots... have a list of about @ 8 or so who are fantastic pilots.... are few and far between... if one of them not on, then I play as infantry/Eng, ground or in tank.

I play TDM on Golmud Railway map @ 90% of the time. I'm a below-average to average player. My in-game user name I often change as I get bored... some of the names I play under:

Nice! That map and was the only reason I ever fired BF3 back up after BF4 released.

Really? There is a ton of mechanics in normal mode to complain about. 3d spotting being the biggest evil. The maps are okay. Most of them aren't BF2 scale, but the Its better than bf3 at least.

Most of the DLC ones I find more enjoyable than the core maps, for various reasons.

Ooops! Sorry! I've been having a pretty spectacular run in-game lately. There's still plenty of rounds where I suck (mostly due to the influence of liberal doses of brandy!) but overall I'm doing great and have even been #1 in quite a few rounds.

I think it's a combination of things...

1. My wife leaves me alone to get in some decent gameplay.
2. I'm using a much better gaming mouse (Shark Force).
3. I replaced my old video card with a 4GB Nvidia GT 750
4. I reimaged my computer and did a clean install with just BF4, Symantec, Ventrillo, and Firefox.
5. The run-n-gun crowd that used to screw up my game style have mostly moved on to BF Hardline.

I just couldn't get into Hardline, and it seems few could because it appears completely dead. In fact I only see two servers with anyone in them, one has 27 players the other has 4. LOL
