I've seen you on the Nunya server as MrPoopyPants (a very memorable name!) please stop in and play with us when you can!
I'm [NUNY] LongTrang1 in-game.

Hey thanks, Bart... I just saw this post... sorry.

I haven't been playing BF4 nearly as much since that patch doesn't allow stingers/javelins on the small chopper. I really miss that. The in-game user name I'm using atm is 'Jury-Pool-Reject'.

I'm back to playing some 'Command & Conquer:TA' as well.

just launch bf4 few days ago. finally most of the bugs are fixed. especially the ram/swapfile bug on crossfire eyefinity.

bf4 now will run on ram only / no swap file.

only if it was this good on day launch day.

edit:
I spoke too soon... stupid BF4. still broken.

Its supposed to be out today.

Its out played a round of Dragon Valley earlier and its pretty, but I dont think it'll be a favorite map of mine. Its kind of an annoying map to get around on by foot and armor, and the AA is going to make any kind of helo rape difficult. Sooo, the AA will be my preferred weapon of choice here I believe. LOL

Had to get to work so I basically just ran around for a few minutes in an empty TDM "Noshar Canals" server, it looked like it could be fun, will give it a go later.

it's a nice refresh and should be good for large conquest, lots to do and lots of terrain to use.
kind of tired of air rape anyway...

The new map is great. I like conquest and the canals deathmatch version. Its an amazing map IMO and feels like traditional battlefield with how the game is paced even with 64 players. You have to either go to the action or wait by a flag for the enemy to come to you. Occasionally you will battle some stray enemies or engage a tank or something. Its perfect.

Bolded part is what I hated about all the early BF's, the pace is just flat out sleep inducing. ZZZZZZZZZ

Going back to BF3's canals on the other hand is pure awesome-sauce.

The size and scope is what made BF a strategic and squad focused game. You had to get together and go after a flag and I remember the exhilaration of doing that as a squad and wondering if we could pull it off or not on our way to the flag.
If you went to defend a flag, you had to go after the right one or else they will fall like dominos and since the map is large, you can't just run next door to the next flag and defend. Your ass had to TRAVEL there, so the choices you make matter because getting to a flag takes time and capturing it takes team work and timing.
BF was never a fast paced game. That started with BF3.

bf4 is a nice medium between cod and arma.

if bf4 is boring. forget arma. just stick with cod.

Yep

BFBC2 was decent, but BF3 was the first BF game I really enjoyed. I always liked the vehicles but hated the travel time and long lulls in action in previous BF's. Most of the BF3 and 4 maps are nearly perfect for the way I like to play. I like to rack up kills and watch the bodies hit the floor. :D

Ill refer you to my previuos post.....have you read anything in this thread? If you had you would know Im a BF3 and 4 fanatic. o_O

edit: Just to be extra clear, I was calling the remade BF2 map boring.

And yes Arma is a total snoozefest, may as well watch paint dry.

So, are there still quite a few of servers running BF4 full? I have not been on it for over a year, probably longer after either EA or Origin was IMHO hacked (after my username/password was changed, had to get in touch w/ a REAL person @ either EA or Origin to verify CC and other personal info and get my account reset. For curiosities sake, wondering if it was just a fluke with my luck, I went looking for username/password info online and found my BF4 or Origina username and password along with probably thousands of others on a russian hacker site).

Yes there are plenty of full servers to choose from. I also had my Origin account stolen by some russian scum a few years ago. Origin has since beefed up their security measures with login verification and backup codes, I highly recommend turning them on.

After that last big update (when they took the stinger/javelin off the Scout chopper), I've hardly played.

WOW, that was a few years ago, damn time flies even if you are not having fun.

At the time of me talking to the EA/Origin person I did opt to put those additional security measures in place, I think now I get a code txted to me on my phone.

Is the community looking forward to BF5? It would be nice if they put in some of the stuff from BF2:SF like the gas masks, gas grenades, true night maps, night vision, etc. but I guess we will see.
