Have to say although the jury is still out Picard seems to be on the slow-moving side. Hopefully a bit more action incoming.

Just got done watching episode 5 and it seems I got my wish.

Enjoyed the episode but will continue reserving judgement till post season one.

... and I get a big button on that page saying "Watch with CBS All Access".

Silly foreigners.

At this point I have to say that IMO subscribing to All Access through Amazon would be a bad move.

Two weeks in a row now the latest Picard episode (6 this week) was available with a direct subscription on schedule at 3:01 am EST but as of 9:33 am Amazon's version still says "video not available".

I had a nice discount for Dec-Feb ad-free at approx half-price but soon as its done I'll be cancelling and going direct to source.

Full price for sub-par service is NOT getting it done!

Funny ... ALSO same as last week 10 minutes after I posted a negative comment here and on Amazon then emailed support suddenly video is "available for streaming".

Seems like somebody over at Amazon is asleep at the switch!

Anyway there's one more week left with my discount on All-Access ... we'll see what happens next Thursday.

I'm still waiting until the season is over so I can binge watch it on a free trial. Star Trek exists in a universe where information wants to be free... so I'm not going to ruin that enlightened philosophy by paying to watch it :)

Good plan ... in fact if it had not been for the Black Friday deal I would have likely done the same cheapskate that I am!

Just got done with episode 6 btw ... no spoilers but after the slow-ish start its getting pretty good!

wonder how many episodes Jeri Ryan is contracted for.
and how much they are paying her to come back.
wow.. she's 52?!

also, RIP
Icheb
I barely remember him from Voyager.
I wonder if anyone from deep space 9 will show up? (besides the mention of the Ferengi prime minister, Quark.)

And picard is 79?!
wonder if they have plan B if Patrick Stewart dies in real life because old

everyone on Picard's ship is emotional damaged. (I wonder what Capt Rios's problem is.)
this doesn't sound like Star Trek.

it sounds like the standard 'throw a bunch of gifted misfits together' cliché.

I wish they had the guts to do some proper Star Trek, and buck the "everything has to be dark and broody" trend.
Trek was able to make a compelling story happen in a Utopia....

I'm counting on this thread being bumped once they're all out so I can do the same!

Exactly. This is OK, but it is not what I was expecting at all. Much grittier than I was hoping for.

Well Amazon had episode 7 on-time this week at least so I guess I'll go ahead and renew, at least its only one bill with Prime.

Episode itself was pretty good although still not great ... pacing is still on the slow side.

There seem to be a number of plot holes like this. Not very well thought out.
I thought of another one.
they have this theory that someone high up in the Admiralty is a deep mole Romulan spy and caused the Mars attack.

do you think Picard told his Admiral friend about this?

CBS All Access now has a one month free trail when you subscribe and enter coupon code GIFT. That'll give anyone plenty of time to watch the first season.

Yeah, I'm doing my one month free trial binge watch now.

Honestly, it's good, but it doesn't feel like Star Trek. It's like I'm watching "CSI: Starfleet" , or some other CBS crime drama so far, and I just finished episode 5.
