BOSE will blow the socks off your Paradigms.

LOLlers

$400 Paradigm sound 10x better than $40,000 BOSE.

$400 Paradigm is garbage. $2000 Bose will get you surround set up.

:(

$2,000 spent on Paradigm, B&W, or Klipsch will blow BOSE out of the water. While you are at it, those BOSE speakers will sound even better on a DiVinci Reciever. :p

I don't know about paradigm but my Vandersteen 5A's and LINN Klimax 500 Solo amps do me well.

Paradigm can be likend to an Ariel Atom: Faster in every way but costs 10x less. (39k Atom base price)

Does anyone want to recomend some speakerwire for me? 10 or 12 AWG, 10 is preffered and I have already looked at BlueJeanscable.com, so can you find me some decent wire (10AWG) that costs less than .79¢ per foot?

Just go to Lowes and get some SJ cord from the electrical department.

It's flexible, tolerates being ran over with vacuums that have beaters in them and if you have a smaller brother you can beat him with leftover wire!

Flexible cords are: SE, SEO, SEOO, SJ, SJE, SJEO, SJEOO, SJO, SJOO, SJT, SJTO, SJTOO, SO, and SOO. These are all hard-service or extra-hard-service flexible cords. With the ?W-A? rating, they are also suitable for outdoor use. Again, each of the letters has meaning:

S: Hard Service Flexible Cord
SJ: Junior Hard Service Flexible Cord
E: Thermoplastic elastomer insulation
T: Thermoplastic insulation
O: Jacket is oil resistant
OO: Jacket and Conductors are oil resistant

As long as its insulation is suitable for the voltages encountered and the conductors have sufficient cross sectional area for the length of the runs, you will be fine.

How long are your cable runs? Measure them and report back here. I seriously doubt that you need 10 AWG or even 12 AWG.

I cannot tell you how many times I have read or been told to the likewise not to use lamp cord. We'll just keep the debate open and see what others have to say.

Oh, and congradulations on your 500th post.

I will be setting up two theaters one now and one for a family member at a later time. The longest leinght measured is 60 feet plus a little bit more for routing around attic obsticles and such. A few extra feet will also allow for them to be relocated in a differant posisition in the future with out having to re-do the job over again.

2 walls 10 feet high then they will be place 35 feet from the reciever to the rear of the room.

I think I missed the in-wall part of it before.

Cablesforless has some stuff rated for in-wall use, but it's not 10 or 12 gauge.

If your amp has class 1 output capability remember you will be required to use class 1 wiring in your walls. If that's the case use Romex NM wire.
