Yeah - I'm no Hollywood screenwriter, but it seems they would have to really stretch the imagination/force/SW world to somehow re-incorporate Luke. I don't think having him walk around as a Force Ghost for 2 hours makes sense either.

What if he was so powerful he merged with the force...and became a force-being?

what if he became so powerful with the force that he broke the 5th wall of the Star Wars universe, murdered Rhionae Johnson IRL, and someone else stepped in to pen and direct a proper Star Wars flick as if the last one never happened?

Honestly, one simple 3 minute fix would have TOTALLY VINDICATED that last movie:

The AT-ATs are approaching the base. Luke is sighted. It's actually Luke...not his ghost. Ren orders all batteries to fire on Luke. A huge plume of dust and explosions fill the screen. When the dust clears, we see Luke using the force to hold all of the AT-ATs laser bolts in place....and then he PUSHES THEM ALL BACK AND DESTROYS THE ENTIRE ARMADA.

Rey emerges from the wreckage, shocked and injured. They fight, Rey realizes he can not win in his current state and jumps aboard a summoned shuttle.

They they could do that whole "Luke hasn't used the force in so long that he died" or whatever BS they wanted to do.

They took the time to show Luke’s x-wing, I was hoping for a Luke/Wedge Antilles x-wing hyperspace in with a hodgepodge of OT fighters after Leia sends out the distress signal

That's basically what "How it should have ended did".

In the latest world's worst kept secret, title and initial trailer will debut today during opening panel at the celebration. Can watch in live time via the celebrations YT stream or whenever you try to browse the web about 30 minutes after release as it's wallpapered everywhere.

Now this is what I'm talking about.

Let's replace both TLJ and TFA please. That would be great!

I know the Star Wars universe hasn't gone the way we all wanted it to go. But if the trailer doesn't give you goosebumps and get you excited then I don't know what you're looking for.

I'm not sure how I feel about the title, but the movie is definitely relevant to my interests.

No. After much analysis it’s Darth J.J.

No not Abrams

I already bought my advance screening tickets for watching it the evening before the official release at midnight.......can't wait!

(Fingers crossed: For the love of all that is holy, no more "Mary Poppins" Princess Leia scenes).

It's too late at this point. They completely negated any purpose to the original trilogy with no explanation as to how it happened. The new universe they created has basically nothing to do with the original trilogy outside of jamming some nostalgia down your throat with old characters every few minutes that they haphazardly throw away like soiled adult diapers. The current "bad guy" is fucking lame, the main character is a boring miserable actress and the director/writer is a hack. Basically you have special effects and some old actors to look forward too, and even some of the special effects were lame in the last movie(mary poppins and the casino). Stay home and sell your ticket.

Sounded like Ian McDermid (Emperor Palpatine) but that's just me and probably too much of a deus ex machina even for the terrible writing of the prequels and the sequel films.

Hey, BudAshes, tell us how you really feel.
Me I'm always up for a good show. I don't think she is a Skywalker. The last movie kinda indicated that anyone can become a great Jedi. But it would be, like, Disney, to put in Necromancy into the movie.

Not as excited about it as when the trailer for TFA came out. But I'll don my SW T-shirt and go see it opening weekend to beat the spoilers. Btw, if a large piece of the exploding Death Star slammed into a planet, wouldn't that be like a meteor extinction event?

I guess that would depend on the size of the planet. However, with things like Star Wars and other sci-fi, I just enjoy the scenery of things like planets getting blown up, and large pieces of the Empire's various wreckage laying around without putting too much thought into it.

also depends on where it lands. As for the Chuxticlub or whatever meteor that ended the Cretaceous, if that thing had landed a couple dozen miles north or west, I think, it wouldn't have been nearly as devastating. It just happened to be the absolute perfect spot with whatever mineral that was that is super abundant there (ask @IronWing), that rocketed up into the sky in giant lava glass funnels, slammed back into the earth, and then peppered the upper atmosphere with ash and minerals, spread across the globe and blocked the sun for about a year, completely shutting down photosynthesis everywhere. Oh and the tidal waves.

Very heavy innuendo themed trailer without really revealing anything. Have about 10 watches down already. Laugh every time I see the Lando spot. With how heavily the details are masked in the trailer along with the seemingly purposely devilish naming, going to be a long wait for winter to get here.
