Very heavy innuendo themed trailer without really revealing anything. Have about 10 watches down already. Laugh every time I see the Lando spot. With how heavily the details are masked in the trailer along with the seemingly purposely devilish naming, going to be a long wait for winter to get here.

I’m going to predict it will be the worst “canon” SW movie after Ep 1. I can easily see there being several WTF moments as bad or worse than Flying Nun Princess Leia.

That scene has been dubbed "Carrie Poppins" by the fans.

After the Last Jedi I'm very meh right now. I'm going to guess that a lot that was done or said in Last Jedi will be retconned in this one to explain many things that Rian Johnson sought to change drastically.

TLJ and to a lesser extent TFA has made me very apathetic towards Star Wars. They had a great opportunity to write a new trilogy with a cohesive and compelling plot but have failed miserably. Nothing that happens 9 will make up for that.

Never been so underwhelmed by a Star Wars trailer. The whole desert tie fighter sequence was ridiculous, another throwback to the Matrix style acrobatics of the prequel Jedi. I prefer the simplicity of the OT lightsaber duels. Also sort of reminded me of when Luke faced the speeder bike in ROTJ, less the absurd back turned Cirque De Soleil nonsense.

Hey look kids, its Billy Dee Williams doing an impression of Donald Glover doing an impression of Billy Dee Williams, and I am saying that with Lando being a highlight of the Solo movie. Lando should have been with Han and Chewie in TFA.

I’m assuming we’re looking at the wreck of a Death Star at the end of the trailer. Emperor Palpatine cackle, are you f’ing kidding me!

It's too late at this point. They completely negated any purpose to the original trilogy with no explanation as to how it happened. The new universe they created has basically nothing to do with the original trilogy outside of jamming some nostalgia down your throat with old characters every few minutes that they haphazardly throw away like soiled adult diapers. The current "bad guy" is fucking lame, the main character is a boring miserable actress and the director/writer is a hack. Basically you have special effects and some old actors to look forward too, and even some of the special effects were lame in the last movie(mary poppins and the casino). Stay home and sell your ticket.
Yeah, pretty much. The new trilogy has been a pretty big let down (primarily TLJ thanks to RJ "subverting expectations" - RLM's review was spot on as). If these movies were not in the SW universe, they would be an incredibly mediocre trilogy that would quickly be forgotten.

Then watch this one;

Thanks for sharing. I had no idea this game is coming out. I really don’t like the expansion of Star Wars between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. The lore was better when Obi Wan was the last of the Jedi. Now you have all these Force users running around, a resurrected Darth Maul and pseudo Sith Inquisitors.

I half expect the new Rian Johnson trilogy to be about how Porkins uploaded his consciousness into an astromech droid JUST before his ship blew, and now he’s working at a restaurant or something.

The KOTOR is a far more interesting universe to explore.

Wow. Hopefully a nice ending to the Star Wars saga. How long will the wait be for X, XI and XII?

My only worry about that Star Wars game -- outside of it being published by EA -- is that it's being released so close to the next Star Wars movie. Publishers love tying movie-related properties into movie releases, and consequently, they've pushed games out too early. Now, we don't know if that will happen here, but it's something that I'd keep an eye on.

One interesting thing about the game is now that LA flushed all the EU stuff out, everything published now is considered canon. Looks like they plan on adding a good bit of story in this.

Given the time period they've referenced, would have to be a hell of a time jump.

Theoretically those are done after IX. They'll branch out with other stories. Thank god I say. The 40 years of dogma people attach to the skywalkers is a little much to deal with.

Haven't seen the trailer yet. cut the chord and there is so many other more interesting things to watch online after the shite sandwich that Ryan Johnson served up and mindless people ate up tried to gaslight people who didn't like Ep. VIII into believing was a gourmet meal.

Saw this is an article.

Star Wars” fans got thrown a curveball on April 12 when Disney unveiled the long-awaited title to “Episode IX”: “The Rise of Skywalker.” The official title polarized many fans and sparked worry that director J.J. Abrams might be retconning some of the more controversial decisions Rian Johnson made in “The Last Jedi.” That film revealed Rey’s parents were nobodies, meaning she does not come from the Skywalker bloodline. Does “Rise of Skywalker” allude to Rey being a Skywalker after all?

Such an idiotic opinion. That would be like someone watch ANH for the first time and going crazy during ESB when we find out daddy Skywalker is still alive.

Jar Jar Abrams, doing to Star Wars what he did to Star Trek.

Is that possible, though? Star Trek was the more cerebral entity, which was turned into more of an action-oriented affair. However, Star Wars was always a bit more action-oriented to begin with.

Although, none of this should be a huge surprise. Johnson supposedly tossed a draft script that had been written by Abrams in favor of his own approach... subverting expectations! So, pretty much everything that was setup to be a simple, grand reveal ("Rei is related to a Jedi", etc.) was unveiled to be something more... lackluster.

The fact that this wasn't a completely planned out trilogy is unforgivable and screams of amateurism and incompetence.

Only if you consider Kylo Ren to a reliable narrator. No way he had his own motives. OTOH People seem to forget the Kylo Ren is a skywalker as well. If I were mkaing bets, it would be that he's the rising skywalker. That he shakes off the dark side like his grandfather struggled to do. He'll probably make some grand sacrifice to save Rey to close out the Skywalker linage. There has been a bunch of messaging about how you don't have to be a skywalker to be someone special so far.

You kidding? It's EA - of course it will be rushed out unfinished. It's only the surprise releases that appear remotely finished, these major properties? Always delayed, mismanaged, and pushed out the door before the deadline regardless of whether it has any right being released yet.

I'd prefer to at least give it a fair shake, but as mentioned, my hopes are not held high. Albeit, given all the flak that EA has received for their use of the Star Wars license, I would imagine that Disney would consider licensing it to someone else once the original EA license expires if they can't manage to make a good game.

Unfortunately, Disney said recently that they've been very pleased with EA's handling of the franchise. Birds of a feather those two are. It sucks because before the Disney takeover we got Star Wars games like crazy, across a wide range of genres, and a ton of them were great. Now we get one every other year and they're always unfinished and squeeze you for every penny.
