That's not to say I don't want some of the other ships.
Ever since the video came out of the 300i I've wanted one. It's kindof like that whole gotta-have Lexus style marketing thing going on, but honestly it's my kind of ship. If I could have started out in it, I would have, but my budget was set.
The ship that I want though: MISC Freelancer. That's what I want to live in. It's what I want to make my fortune in. I'm a giant carebear, I love exploring, trading, adventuring. The Freelancer is me.
I'd also like a Cutlass for when I hang out with my pirating friends. It's just a cool looking ship that seems to inspire that sort of fear.
But for me, the Aurora LX is going to be it. That's all I'm spending money on until the game comes out because that's how I play games until I determine whether they're worth spending more of my cash on or not. That and I don't mind being the idiot casual who takes 3 years to do that whole progression thing the way the developers intended it.
That's a valid approach as any, especially when you consider that if you want to try out other ships, you can play Spectrum Matches and rent most of them with REC.
I'm wondering if rentals for the bigger ships will be available with REC when AC2.0 comes out....I hope so, I would like to take the Freelancer / Retaliator / Redeemer for a spin when they become flyable.
BTW....I also love the 3xx series - ever since that commercial. At this point, the 300i and 315p are some of the most balanced, easiest flying ships in the game. I'm excited to see what they do with the update pass scheduled. I'm hoping for a better interior - - they really improved that approach with the Avenger and Mustang series.
It's also very combat capable with the right pilot. I've watched BravenTooth destroy everyone on the map in BR numerous times with his 315p.
I would love to get an Avenger, but I'm on the fence about not being able to swap out the front canon. Right now it's probably the best baked in ballistic - high DPS and much faster velocity than the Mantis (without annoying overheat or spin-up courtesy of 1.3). I'm just worried about it getting a nerf or trying to mix it with other weapons to get a close PIP, as they keep changing that.
I'll still probably end up with one, because I really like the design, and it also has a decent cargo hold (the 3xx doesn't right now).
