Abramson is just doing what he always does. Spinning snippets to try to create a big issue that doesn’t exist. They did not just focus on the IRA link from what I’m seeing being read aloud from the letter.

The MSM does that A LOT more than Seth ever does. This probably is more about Barr trying to protect the Republicans.
Huh? Look at how many of his associates went to prison, lol. Witch hunts are supposed to be the persecution of innocent people, not prosecuting criminals, haha. This investigation is exactly what good governance looks like and you should be very happy for it.
As far as the idea that investigating the president for obviously corrupt behavior would somehow fire up his small base enough to win an election a year and a half from now, that’s just magical thinking. Total nonsense.
I am pretty interested to see the actual text of the report though. This result is pretty positive for Trump I think but I suspect the actual text of the report will be considerably less so.

Pretty much what I expected on the Russia front...not what I expected on obstruction though. I thought that there would be findings/evidence on obstruction that would be turned over to the AG for any action/decision.
But this letter does not summarize everything in the report--I'd be very interested to read each specific declination statement.

That is what happened in reference to obstruction. The letter said that Trump was not exonerated on obstruction but that the AG determined his actions didn’t cross the line into criminal activity. I would be very interested to see the data that’s based on.
I'm saying he is going to use that narrative and run with it. I know it's not a witch hunt. But he will utilize that narrative to the MAX to fire up his base. If you don't believe he can hang on to it for a year and a half you're nuts. This is just more ammo in his holster that he repeat weekly on twitter until the election.
Overall, I'm fine with the investigation. I feel it was worth it - except the ones prosecuted should have gotten more time and paid WAY stiffer penalties - but that's a different discussion.
I honestly just wish they would do an investigation on financial corruption charges instead - You can probably find a lot more there as far as Trump.

Regardless, his base will he fired up regardless. It’s not particularly relevant. They are simply too small a number of people to win him the election though - it’s all about not having low democratic turnout.
That is already happening. I’m sure you’ll hear plenty more about it over the next year or so.
I’ll make a political prediction - when the actual report is released people will think this letter dramatically undersold the level of corrupt activity by Trump, particularly as it relates to obstruction of justice.
I predict a tweet claiming total vindication. And also whining that CNN doesn’t carry the no collusion found headline in big enough letters.

My understanding is that obstruction is difficult to prove even when the evidence seems strong, because it involves proving intent.
I think that Trump is clear on the Special Counsel investigation, but he still has other legal troubles to deal with.

I'll make one too. If the report is released, the left and the right will both reach their predetermined conclusions before the thing is even read.

Well, Trump would have seen the report right away, so he's had time to tweet about it.
If he has any brain cells working, he will continue to say nothing about it.
