There is a difference between arguing and leveling personal attacks and insults. The atheists of this board invariably engage in the latter every time a Christian expresses his opinion.
All anger is fear based. It's clear that you people are terrified. How does it feel to realize that the words of a Christian have that level of control over your emotions?

I believe the situation could be summed up thusly. The crux of the matter is about respect, tolerance, and deference. Unfortunately, what many of you so loudly and vehemently demand from others you are adamantly unwilling to reciprocate.

If that wasn't a call to rumble, I don't know what is. Personally, I would never start a thread like this because it is against my personal tenets. I've got my own spiritual thing going on, and if you like me then a big part of that is because I live what I believe. Part of that includes trying very hard not to judge anyone (but I don't always succeed).
I'm not sure if this helps anyone, but I felt like adding my scent to the gaseous air in here.

Now how in the world are you going to compare praying in public to swearing in public,which by the way is not done over a loudspeaker and in unison by everyone in the building as praying usually is. The two are not comparable.

I would think differently if everyone was asked if they wanted to take part in these prayers or at least if they mind being subjected to the praying,but they are automatically expected to huddle up with the team and pray. I think there should just be a moment of silence so that everyone can pray to their own god.

I don't see Hindus, animalists or wiccas going out trying to convert people.
Maybe its about time western nations have that law like they have in Russia, where its against the law to go out & actively try & convert others to you faith. Yes that's right if you are (for example) a catholic preist, you have the right to convert/baptise or whatever anyone who walks in & asks to be converted, but its illegal for that Catholic preist to wander arround the streets encouraging people to join his church. They introduced that law after the breakup of the Soviet Union when all these crzy American evangelicals moved in splashing their money about, trying to convert everyone & in the process created problems galore, such as family breakups, etc.

Frankly, I don't care if anyone prays in school, provided a prayer from each of the top 50 religious organizations is said seriatum. Perhaps tolerance would then magically descend upon the throng of unwashed Christian "heathens".
