1) Girlfriend dumped me in November 2006 , and all the fun revelations that come with that

3) As a result of the break up I moved out of our apartment and am now in the middle of nowhere about the start university.

It should pick up later who knows. Not what I'd call a good start to the year, though.

Bah, it actually sounds like it'll certainly get better.

Definately. I came out here last night not knowing anybody and I've already met a bunch of people and it feels like home. Happened a lot quicker than I thought. I don't see how it can get worse :)

I don't think I've ever had a worst year, but I would say that all of them have been lackluster. Like nothing really good or really bad happening, kinda like I'm just existing instead of living. My own damn fault really.

*Knocks on wood* but I have been pretty blessed. They have all been pretty good. I guess if I had to pick one...1999/2000 timeframe when my parents divorced.

2002. Gave up my faith, challenged my concept of who I was socially and professionally, gained about 80 lbs, and went through a series of depressions. My grades plummeted, I changed majors a number of times, pushed myself to the point of failing. Became anti-social, strange, clingy, and a whole host of other unhealthy personality traits. Contemplated nihilism and suicide.

The four years that followed have been a growth spurt for me. I have had a number of challenges and dark times since my sophomore year of college, but my outlook and my optimism has kept me going. I know now that I will meet my challenges and trials and survive them, and I know now that failure can be more of a growth opportunity than success. I've failed now, many times, and each time I allow myself to feel the sting and the humiliation, and then I learn from it.

If you let yourself be pushed around or you let the negative experiences weigh on you, you'll always be captive to someone or something. If you think too much of what other people think of you, you'll never truly be who you want to be.

What's that Dr. Seuss quote? Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. Be honest and be a friend, be nurturing and allow others to share in your life and in your person, but always be true to yourself.

Probably 2006

1. Dad died
2. Got hit my a motorcycle while out riding my bike
3. Lost my job
4. Came pretty close to splitting with my gf

That being said things real haven't been that bad.

1. My mom gave the life insurance money she got from my dad's death to my sister and I. I have enough to live on for a year.
2. The new upgrades I got for my bike were pretty nice.
3. I'm pretty close to getting a better job then the one I lost.
4. Ok no positive spin on this one. We're still working on a number of issues.

I'm a firm believer in things happen for a reason.

2003. Split up with my hs sweetheart during my freshman year in hs. Horrible time.

Got back together in 2004 and still together.

2003, without a doubt:

[*]Lost every "friend" that I had IRL for various reasons
[*]My grandmother (who I really considered my "mom") died
[*]I didn't start going to college when I was supposed to
[*]I started a two-year job that I never should have even considered
[*]I dated a stark raving mad lunatic (that still comes back to haunt me; nice choice for first boyfriend, eh?)
[*]and I have several other regrets from that year that I'm not about to mention here

2004 (don't ask reasons, it was terrible ... the whole year was bad...for me and the whole family).
2005 wasn't that good either but was slightly better
2006 started decent with nice middle and very nice end
2007 looks promising and so far, it has started good.

Worst year as a whole? Don't know. There is this, though - in the course of about 2 weeks in 1997, 1 neighbor (a girl just a year younger than me) was shot and killed by one of her "friends", another neighbor had a massive stroke, and then one of the guys working in my dad's shop cut part of his hand off on a bandsaw. The shop was sort of out in the middle of nowhere, so my dad had to put the guy in the back of his van and tak him to the hospital himself.
