It's fight or flight. If he felt felt threatened and thought fighting would have better results, then yes I do.
You realize he has pulled this act (harassed people about parking) before multiple times at this same location.
I doubt he would have tried to do anything without his gun (and Stand your Ground) as protection.

No, I didn't know he has a history of these acts, but I'll believe you. A guy, who has frequently confronted other individuals about parking where they shouldn't was shoved to the floor. It doesn't really change opinion on this mess. Again, I don't think anybody should have been shot here, but he is within his to do so.

So, if a child is shoves down a bully on the schoolyard harassing a girl should he (the bully) get a gun and shoot him?

WTAF? And Floridians are ok with that.

No, it is not that simple. Leaving a situation to get a gun then returning means it is no longer a self-defense situation. There have been cases where persistent abuse has been used as justification for shooting another when there is no immediate threat. Think of a consistently abused spouse or child who shoots the abuser when they are not actively being abused. Past abuses and fear of future abuses can make the shooting justified in the eyes of the law.

Yet people of FL are fine with gangs using Stand Your Ground to get away with murder.

Differences in that situation and this one and why it's an unfit comparison to make: Both of those kids know each other and there is a familiarity there - not strangers attacking strangers. They both have knowledge of an authority figure in the vicinity, certainly within earshot, if that authority figure didn't actually witness this event, who could come over and intervene if necessary.

But, to answer your question... no, he shouldn't. He shouldn't be armed at a school of course either.

It's pretty common to confront people that misuse parking in handicapped spots and he shouldn't have been violently assaulted for doing it.

He absolutely should have been knocked on his ass. Without question. Grown men should not be harassing women about a parking spot. If I would've come out of that store and saw him yelling at my wife, I absolutely would've put some distance between him and her. Would that be assault? You bet. Stand your ground laws are not intended to let shit starters shoot someone when it goes south on them.

My youngest son interns for a judge who used to be a DA. Like most Texans he's (the judge) pro-2A but he is pretty emphatic that under Texas law this guy would be charged with murder. I think the shooter should go to jail forever. He should share a cell with George Zimmerman.

Bullshit. In the linked article, a reporter questions one couple rather politely. You know, once, not as a regular thing. It also goes on to explain how Houston uses official volunteers to write tickets, not confront violators. There's an obvious difference between that & the shooter in question.
