I disagree. PS1 was the pinnacle of gaming, in my opinion. SNES was great, especially chrono trigger, but Genesis to me was equally as good. With PS1, there was no other system worth noting, except for computers, and even they only really started to get good around the end of PS1's lifespan. PS1 had so many excellent games (and a lot of crap too).


For example:

Syphon Filter
the FF series
Chrono Cross
Driver 1 and 2
Marvel Vs Capcom
Metal Gear Solid
Gran Turismo 1 & 2
All the EA sports games

and theres so many more than this. PS1 took gaming to another level. SNES, while good, didn't have as many breakthrough titles in my opinion.

If you mean me, I'll have you know I've been a console gamer since the Atari days. I didn't think SNES was that special, definately not a huge advancement forward like, say, NES was from Atari. PS1 redefined the console gaming industry.
