Look at all of the great games that came out for it:

Super Mario World
F-Zero
Super Metroid
Super Mario Kart
Super Tecmo Bowl
Zelda
Castlevania.*
MegaMan.*
ActRaiser.*
Final Fantasy III
Secret of Mana

...

What do you think?

Agreed 100%. The hardware might have evolved since then but gameplay was never so good.

Super Mario World = Best console game of all time.

I haven't played it, but many people I know say Zelda OOT is the best game ever.

That's N64 and they're almost right. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the best game ever!

Never had one, I had a Sega Genesis at the time. I did play on one at a friend's house occasionally and it was fun. :)

Also, I don't know that it was the pinnacle of gaming... That is a very strong statement. I think that it is between the SNES and the N64. After all, the N64 featured some amazing games. Ocarina of time is perhaps the best game ever made. That may change after we see the new Zelda though.

So, how is Act Raiser? I have it, but I never popped it in.

OMG, how could you forget Street Fighter II??? That single game must've sold a helluva lot of SNES. (It was pretty much the only reason that I bought one.)

Pinnacle of video gaming... You may very well be right. But I'm not sure that I would say it was any better than the Genesis. Some things it did better, but some it didn't (sports games).

But yeah, that era was certainly the best, especially if you take all of the options (SNES, Genesis, arcade) into consideration.

And how could you forget Tetris Attack and Yoshi's Island? Tetris Attack was easily the best puzzle game ever made. And Yoshi's Island is the pinnacle of platform games.

SNES will always be my favorite system ever.

I played that at the arcade many a day. Now I don't play fighters anymore because they just piss me off. :p

They are re doing a lot of those games for the Cube.
They should take the top Snes/N64 titles and make them on the Cube, then it would be sooo good.

Super Mario World
F-Zero
Super Metroid
Super Mario Kart
Zelda
Final Fantasy III

Some games that have already done that :)
