Whoopsie. My mistake. He's a T-Mobile customer. Guess that makes all this a whole lot more credible, right? I'll believe it when I see it. I've never seen someone so ambitious to bring about change to something that wouldn't even affect him. Too bad he speaks like a iphone at the end of it all.
I'm not ignorant. I did read the thread. I read the whole thread through alll the way. And I had nothing to say until he posted that jpeg with those little charts.
Why do the charts piss you off?
The charts piss me off because in essence, this is what you're doing: You're accusing a business for trying to make a profit.
OH MY GAWD, someone call in the military. AT&T is trying to make a profit, really? It's okay though, cuz in reality, those numbers really don't mean anything and they're designed to confuse and misinform people looking at it.
Do the charts take into account that the dollar is weaker now than it was in 2008? Did it take inflation into account? Even if it did, net income numbers are great, but real performance figures would call for profit margin ratios, P/E ratios, cash flow statements, yada yada. I don't see your charts looking at any of those.
You cannot assess the profitability of a company net income numbers alone. BUT, for the benefit of the doubt, let's say net income is a fine measure of how a business stands.
You're telling me that in a time of recession and economic hardship, they are making a steady amount of money and not eagerly buying and spending like morons? I don't see the crime. Can someone please pass the kool-aid? Cuz I'm not getting it.
Here, look at this instead:

I hope that link works, not sure how else to link to a google finance document. Their profit margin has stayed almost the same from 2008. They aren't making ridiculous amounts of money and not passing the good times onto the consumers. They are making the same amount of money and subsequently, their service is still shitty.
You know what else? Looks like AT&T actually *is* doing something to serve you better. Looking at the annual charts on g.finance instead of quarterly (switch at the top) shows that they increased their revenue by more than 50% since 2004....but their profit margin has stayed the same. I wonder why that is?
You know, at first, I thought this whole thing was a bet you had with a close friend that you were sore about, desperately trying to prove your point. But now I realize you're much more shortsighted than even that. I think I'm going to make a blog as well. For the sole purpose of convincing people into boycotting AT&T. (I have Sprint....but since you have T-Mobile, it's not any different right?) And if my blog gets some traction, well I'll beat you at your own game.
