Paf,

I use a linksys router and I don't have the Mac bridge in my config. My model is different from yours, but I think alot of the settings are the same.

One thing before I check run an ipconfig /all and paste it here so we can see if your ip addr changed.

Okay you need to change port forwarding in the router now to reflect the new internal ip address 192.168.1.102. Let me know when you are up and I think we will be ready to try it.

Paf ,

My offer still stands for you to point your machines to my queue at crazee.d2g.com:5517. It is running very well and I have plenty of units. :)

I know there's problems sending files through MSmessenger with a router, but it's not only Linsys.

What if i get rid of the router and just put in another NIC in my Main pc??
How do I setup a Network with such setup?

What's the difference of getting to my Q from inside my lan and form outside?

I just noticed that in the DHCP client list , I don't have "Wan" anymore and my 2nd box's name is still blank!!

but I can access it through my main box and vice/versa.

Could this be the problem??? I hope so!!!

Anyone know how to get this back short of a reset?

OK - I'm going to jump back into the ring :p

My suggestion is to DISable DHCP(on the router) and config all your boxes to staic IPs so your IP for the SeitQ NEVER changes. I noticed that your IP had changed to x.x.x.102 - isn't that what the other one was before? and now it has disappeared? That may explain you dhcp table "losing" your second box. I have held out on suggesting this because it does take some work. If you want to try it LMK and i'll help out. I like having static IPs for each of my boxes because I like to tell my hardware what it should be doing not the other way around;)

If you want to try it an instant messenger may be faster, I use MSN, ICQ, and Yasploo. <-- all my freinds can't agree on the "best" one ;)

Hi ,CADkindaGUY.

It changed when we disabled adapters in "device manager so that only the Nic was left. I re-inabled them and they came back in the router and I deleted the one that it had created 1.102. I have been using this router for 4 months and never did the addresses change, until yesterday when we tried all sorts of settings.

Paf,

You could go straight from your cable modem into your SETIq box long enough for us to check and see if it comes up. That would eliminate the router and tell us if that is the problem.

I understand, but my point was that if you config them statically you get to tell the router what IP your comp is. As I stated early on in this thread I had problems with port forwarding until I changed to static.

I waited to suggest this because all the ideas suggested seemed to be fine in my assesment and I didn't want to break any momentum of this thread(if it had any;):p) and now that we all seem to be at a standstill for ideas I though maybe it was time to try the static route.

Offer stands if you want to try it.

Paf did you restart your system so your nic card would pick up the ip address?
