First off. I installed SetiQ on my main pc. SetiDriver is installed on both my home pc's. I have a Lynky router for Nat and access the net through it.
I have cable connectionto the net. IP address is dynamic and changes every 2 months approx. Address is 66.130.59.102

1- How do i get SetiDriver with 100 WU's cached on the same pc to access this queue?
2- How to access the queue from the second pc, which also has SetiDriver with a 25 WU cache?
3- How do I unisntall SetiDriver so I can Use SetiHide instead?
4- Can the WU's from the 2 pc's be tranfered to SetiQ?
5- I will be setinng up 5 more pc's at work on Monday, How can I set it up to get to my queue from work? These machines are not networked and only have dial-up!

I downloaded 200 extra WU's for tyhe Queue. When I go to Settings>Queue Settings, the box is empty, is this normal?

Any and all help is very welcome! As team E^5 will need this extra help for the MTR!!!!! unless IJump decices to go for a handicapped result!;)

Thanks in advance!

Firstly, make sure that you open port 5517 (or whatever port you are using) on your router, and set it to point to the computer's IP within your network.

To get SetiDriver to use your queue, set it to use a proxy server, with the address as the computer name or IP address that has the queue, and whatever port you are using, the same applies with your second computer.

There is no way to transfer the WUs from Seti Driver to SetiQueue. The best thing is to set the desired queue depth to 0, then let it crunch through all of the waiting WUs in Seti Driver.

To uninstall SetiDriver, just delete all but the Seti CLI and your user_info.sah from the Seti Directory, and remove the shortcut you created in the start menu. Then, place SetiHide in that folder.

To access the Queue from the outside, i would install DNS2GO on your Queue machine, this gives you a unique URL which will always point to your external IP address, such as http://teamanandtech.d2g.com (this is my SetiQueue).

For SetiQueue to download any new WUs you must send in a result to the Queue for your user, so that SetiQueue can tell Berkeley what user and which type of client to download WUs for.

Sorry if this seems to jump about everywhere!

Check "My Seti Help page" in my sig and see if there is anything there that i've missed out here :)

Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply Confused!:)

I think this is going to be very lonnnggg!

Sorry for the long post :(

make sure that you open port 5517 (or whatever port you are using) on your router, and set it to point to the computer's IP within your network.

I am already mixed up on this one! I can't find a setting for aport on the LAN side in the router!:(

This is what the status looks like:

Host Name:
Firmware Version: 1.40.2, Oct 23 2001

Login:
Disable

LAN:
(MAC Address: 00-04-5A-D7-C1-01)
IP Address: 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP server: Enabled

WAN:
(MAC Address: 00-04-5A-D7-C1-02)
IP Address: 66.130.59.102
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 66.130.59.1
DNS: 24.200.243.242
24.201.245.114
24.200.243.250
DHCP Remaining Time: 5:43:03

DHCP Clients table:

DHCP Active IP Table
DHCP Server IP Address: 192.168.1.1
Client Hostname IP Address MAC Address
thematrixhasu 192.168.1.100 52-54-05-F2-CB-CA
T-BIRD-XP 192.168.1.101 22-45-A3-A3-DA-17

These are the "advanced options " tab of the router:

Filters/ Forwarding/ Dynamic Routing/ Static Routing/ DMZ/ Host MAC Addr. Clone/ Setup

I set the Wan forwarding like this:

FORWARDING Port forwarding can be used to set up public services on your network. When users from the Internet make certain requests on your router, they will be redirected to the specified IP.

Service port range : 5517~5517/ Prorocol: Both/ IP Address: 192.168.1.101

Then there's this Port Triggering button with :Application Name/ Trigger Port Range/ Incoming Port Range

Do I have to fill these fields?

I am not sure if your model of linksys has the same ways to setup as mine, but here is what I would have to do to forward 5517 to my computer:

1) log into router by entering router internal ip address into browser 192.168.1.1
2) enter user id and password (if you set one up)
3) click yellow advanced tab at top of page
4) click yellow tab for forwarding at top of page
5) in the two service port boxes enter 5517 on the first line
6) leave protocal set for both
7) in the last box of ip address put the last number of the internal ip address of the machine that is running SetiQ
8) Click apply
9) click the continue button that comes up and you are done.

Hope this helps :)

For linksys routers, you have to go to the "Advanced" tab, and choose "Port Forwarding". Map port 5517 to the internal IP of the machine you have SETI Q running. You might also want to set a fixed internal IP for that machine instead of letting it go DHCP. Port triggering is not necessary.

Also, make sure you don't have any kind of firewall software (Zone Alarm or ICF) running. If you must, make sure you are lettting 5517 goes through.

Thanks Crazee, that's what I did before. But isn't this for the Wan side of the router? What about the Lan side?
By the way I have the befsr41!

Let's try this again!!!!!!
I have setup SetiQ on my main pc, has directed in Confused help link.

I also setup dns2go!

I set my 2 computers to use pporxy from me SetiQ! I directed them to my Main pc which has the Q on it through the lan on the router: 192.168.1.101
I forwarded port 5517 on the router to same address.

I come back tonight and my main box SetiDriver still as 4 Wu's to transmit, i tried to retransmit and got this result:

Using proxy server 192.168.1.101:5517
recv fd=68 n=2, errno=2

Can anyboby tell me what's wrong!!!!

the Internet side through paf077.d2g.com will be tested Monday when i get to work!

I'll be here all night if I have to , this has to work!!

I could be wrong but when from my experience with my linksys BEFSR11 I couldn't use DHCP for the LAN side when I tried to do Port Forwarding( can you say FTP ;)). That might be your problem but as I stated before I could be wrong. I don't use that router anymore since i've gone a different route to get NAT. Hopefully someone can tell you for sure if i'm right or wrong but I wanted to post just incase that was the problem since it looks like you have DHCP enabled on your router.

Paf,

Even though I have DHCP on my linksys enabled on the lan side it never really changes the internal ip addresses. It may be because I never really turn my machines off :) Anyway I am running a queue using dns2go and going through a linksys router. I just did what I put in the post above and loaded the dns2go software on the machine running the queue. It is working great for me.

Paf are you sure you have your SetiQ set to 5517? I tried hitting your queue using http://paf077.d2g.com:5517 and it didn't come up. The problem may not be in your router it may be in your SetiQ settings

ok, there's a error in ( http://paf077.d2g.com), and this is my fault !!!! It's paf077.dns2go.com>

In the SetiQ, the server settings are:IP 255.255.255.216
Subnet 255.255.255.216
Port 5517
Connection Type is Winsock Direct

should it be be pointing to my ip address instead?

Thanks guys, it's working NOW!!! :)

Ok another stupid question, when the boxes send in results the Queue will have to connect to Seti@Home, is there a setting for this?
In >Settings>http Server there's a check in the box for :Any Ip address, is this right?

first - yes your Queue will attempt to connect to Seti@home at bezerkely but if bezerkely is down/busy/slow/F'd-up then it will fail/try again later, but your queue will still accept a completeed WU from a client or let a client download a WU (if it is already a client on your queue)

But you can change the times in the "server settings" if you only want your Queue to connect to bezerkely from 12am to 5am then just put that in the "online start time/online end time" spots. If you want to Manually connect then check the "Manually connect" box

second - Any IP - that is up to you. If you want a "public" Queue then yes make sure to check that box "any IP Address"

Anything else? I know it is/was frustrating. I had multiple questions/problems too when first setting SetiQ up.

Ok, that should be it for now.

I'll see Monday when i assimilate the 5 boxes at work. If it works fine then i'll let Poof know to add my Queue to the list. :D

Soory for being such a pain in the@ss!!

Thanks again. :):):)

Paf - I can't connect to your server. did you enable "Any IP Address"? If you did then something is messed up.

I tried http://paf077.dns2go.com:5517 and it times out. just curious.

And like I stated before - you are NOT a pain in my @ss. I am glad to try and help especially since I had sooooo many questions on this same topic :D
