Why would I want to buy an S12 500W for $140, when two Enhance ENP-5150GH units can be had for the same money?? 😉

Because it is modular! Because it is Seasonic! Because those two make it worth that much! 😉
Actually I'm with you on that one. Modular is nice but IMO only for those who aren't as good at wire management 😛

I think those 80 PLUS Silverstone power supplies are rebadged Enhance PSUs. If that's true then the Seasonic should be quieter than the Enhance.

Enhance builds most of Silverstone's PSUs.
Silverstone PSUs have sleeving Enhance lacks ATM.
Seasonic has much more sophisticated thermal fan control for quieter fan operation.
Seasonic uses high end, Nipponese capacitors for longer life at higher heat.
Enhance uses Teapo capacitors the same as the Win-Tact built PCP&C units.

when did this turn into a discussion/advertisement about some enhance psu?

Navid,
At the 500W level, for double the money, the Seasonic has quieter fan operation, sleeving, semi-modular and probably longer service life after 5 years of operation.
I tend to think that when tested side by side that both will have low ripple and very stable voltage as load is applied.
I really like Enhance because of the low price with high value. They build for ATMs, gaming/gambling casinos and those applications must stay running 😉
The Corsair 520/620 are built on the M12 platform but the 60mm fan was dropped and the current limiters tweaked. This distances Corsair from Seasonic for marketing reasons.
Operandi linked a pcp&c 750W review in the C&C forum. You might want to read that thread.
I do not know how it will play out in the future with SLI, Quad SLI, Dual Core or Quad Core but I do know that the highly efficient PSUs are better at keeping up with transient loads. I do hope I chose the right term.
Running at a higher frequency on the primary side offers better responce on the output side. It really is not by much but it may make a difference.

The fourth post in the topic, by you, and the first one advertising an enhance product. You instigated his question with this post i've quoted.
I don't consider you a fellow member, galvanized. I consider you a staunch advertiser for enhance. You can PM more about this, as I'm not going to clutter up this thread any more than it has been.
but I do know that the highly efficient PSUs are better at keeping up with transient loads. I do hope I chose the right term.

more of the usual hot air....no basis for fact......
just becuase a PSU has a high ER means only one thing....
The one thing it means is--- it has a high ER...thats all...
Doesn`t mean its a high quality PSU....
Doesn`t mean the workmanshup is superior....
Doesn`t mean 6 months or a year from now it won`t go out on you.....
There are alot of myth`s associated with having an 80% efficient PSU that just cannot be assumed to be true.....
I will even go one further and say thats even true of my particluar brand of PSU.....
Yet some brands regardless of bring rebadged or not have track records that speak for themselves! 🙂

Are you drunk or off your medication again? 😛

If Enhance would simply start selling their PSU's at some reliable stores (Ewiz scares me), they would sell a hell of a lot more units.
