“That’s a question a politician shouldn’t be involved in one way or another. So, I’m going to leave that up to you.

Seems to me he is 100% correct and this is just the OP and other libs trying to stir up a controversy where none exists. Keep trying though, it's great theater!

You obviously would like to see a casino in your area despite the proven consequences adversely affecting the poor. Do you actually care about the poor or are you just another hypocrite who does a complete 180 on everything they claim they stand for? See how your kind of simplistic mentality works?

What do you think I stand for exactly? Are you assuming I'm a left leaning partisan thinker because I can see Scott Walker is a douche and a hypocrite? I care about the poor but believe our social programs aren't the answer and have done more harm than good. Sound like a Democrat to you? I think having available jobs is a helpful way of getting people to work, though.

Look at that article. It says the opposite about crime. Kenosha isn't exactly a city with a terrible crime rate.

Everything about this smells more like politics than reason.

I know its anecdotal, but we recently had a casino open near me. Its a welcome addition to the area. No crime or increased poverty. Just made it so people had something to do at 3am on a Sunday.

I quoted exactly what Scott Walker said yesterday...and his initial statement wasn't ridiculous, it was the bullshit "gotcha" question that was ridiculous. Now that he's clearly stated that he believes in science do you feel better? Or do you still think he's lying about believing in science despite what he said?

Someone asked him if he believed in Evolution. Yeah that is a gotcha question. I wonder if he would pass if someone asked him if he believed in gravity?

Dude, really. I understand you like him. But it's ok to call a spade a spade.

Btw, this is why it wasn't a gotcha question.

Oh I don't know, having a guy on the House Science committee in a speech saying "evolution is a lie from the pit of hell" might be a reason to ask the question.

Scott Walker waffles on the most basic issues.
People know this.
PS: The next president will be the last one that libruls would want.
Scott Walker doesn't have enough ..umm..cojones.
next! Don't say Jeb Bush..
Also PS:Nyah Nyah Libruls..next pres will be ultra-conservative..
This is America..
Where "All men are created equal"
and more than 70% of the population is Christian
and people want to work for a living and be able to provide a home and life for their family..With a regular job.
Maybe even two weeks paid vacation in their RV/boat/whatever..
This does not happen under the liberal model.
We get Klebolds n stuff..
You can't say "It's never happened in America"
But major changes are a-comin'
for the better! not the worse..
I am being optimistic.

Seems like an appropriate question to me. I'm very interested to know the view points of my elected officials on things like evolution, abortion, protection against racial and asexual discrimination, tax law and health care policy. Asking him if he believes in the established evolutionary theory is like asking him if he believes in Keynesian economics.

He also believes in a magical man that created the universe. Clearly the Democrats that support him are nuts and should not hold public office, or even be allowed to vote.
It is irrational to doubt the validity of evolution. The evidence in reality has established it as a fact, overwhelmingly.

It is not necessarily irrational to believe in a god. There is no evidence in reality that has or could falsify that belief, in the most general sense.

You are not bright enough to have discerned that distinction on your own. Perhaps you should try thinking more and posting less.

That's what we're talking about here, right? People with religious beliefs shouldn't be allowed near government?
No, that's not what anybody is talking about. Sit down, and shut up.

please link to one useful post you have made in this forum. All you do is sling personal attacks.

Liar. I just paid Doc Savage Fan the highest complement there is, that he thinks just like me on gambling. So if I insulted you somehow, let me add the fact you can't read to the list.

I just love these nebulous terms like "the left" and "the right". I count myself as a mixture of both; so what is it exactly that I, as a sometime member of "the left", want to do?

As far as hookers, blow, video games, gambling, etc., we'd be better off concentrating on people with addictive personalities rather than on the particular substance or behaviour.

As far as Walker's stance on evolution; he's just as clueless as a lot of other Americans. I don't believe in evolution; I accept it as the best explanation of the various forms of life on Earth and how they've adapted to various environments and conditions.

My $.02
I listed some of the things the left wants to do. Does it really matter whether you personally want to do them if your vote empowers those who do?

Saying he thinks just like you is the worst personal attack of all, dude.

Why is it so hard for conservative politicians to say "I believe in Science and I have faith in God"

Let me answer this one.

I am a Christian. I fully believe in science. They two can contradict each other if you don't take time to really study what was said in the bible and what science has learned. I caught hell here when I said that I believed the big bang agreed with the bible. I still catch hell when I point out that dinosaurs are talked about in the bible.

The problem is there is so much ignorance on both sides, science and religion, that when you agree with either the other attacks you. Its not a question you can answer with a sound bite, its a good 2 hour conversation.

How it works:

Stephanopolous: Are you for or again states banning contraceptives?
Romney: lol wut? States don't have that power any way...since when has that ever been an issue?
Media: OMG ROMNENY DOESN'T WANT TO NOT BAN BIRTH CONTROL! WAR ON WOMEN! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!

This sounds like the same sort of set up.

Its not, its just that questions like "do you believe in evolution" or "do believe in gay marriage" are used as a reason to discredit people and to discriminate when asked to a politician.

A more appropriate (and relevant) question would be to ask if he'd sign or push legislation banning the teaching of it in public schools.

Just saw the actual clip. This is part of the reason the rest of the first world thinks the majority of Americans are stupid.

I bet he would dodge that question, too.

Right, are jews, and muslims asked these questions? Or would that be offensive?

I'm assuming nothing about which way you lean politically as I'm speaking directly to the content of your post. My point was directed at the rationale you used to denigrate Scott Walker on this particular issue. Surely you know that there are legitimate arguments for/against casinos that go well beyond jobs. In Walker's opinion, the negatives outweighed the positives. This is not about hypocrisy as you have framed this. It's more about him approaching a complex issue rationally and making decisions as to what he feels is best for the State. You may not agree with his decision, but that doesn't make him a hypocrite for coming to a conclusion on an issue that you personally don't happen to agree with.
