I want to know what else is on that code-word classified server besides the transcript of Trump's call to Ukraine. The complaint says it has been a practice of the Trump administration to place selected, unclassified call transcripts onto this server for the nations most highly classified materials. One which only a tiny handful of people have access to.

Anyone wonder what Trump may have said to Putin on various occasions, or someone like MBS? What did he really say to MBS about Khashoggi?

Even if there's no legal basis to get at all those other calls Trump has hidden away, a future democratic POTUS could pull it right off the server and forward it to his or her DoJ.
I hope they remove WH access to that server, otherwise those transcripts might disappear.

The auditing software of these sorts of systems is *very* thorough. I'm not saying they won't try, just that it would be really difficult for them to try and not leave a trail behind.

Yet another tweet by the president accusing Schiff of treason because he doesn't understand what paraphrasing is. Once again, this is all completely normal...

I'm so sick of "he's hyperbolic!" as a defense. This is INSANE. A POTUS (the most powerful person on Earth) is suggesting a political opponent be considered for treason. That's NUTS.

Now Trump wants to meet the whistleblower and others involved (of course Don Corleone would) and have Schiff arrested for his "illegal" statements and Treason (yes big T)

Strangely I just had the Defenestrations of Prague come to mind.

The "trying" part is what I hope they go for.

So we're at the point where the whistleblower and others including family need protection by the US Marshals and a safe house. The rest of the DOJ can't be trusted no more than the Mafia to protect someone from the Don, Donnie Trump.

The sentiment for impeachment investigations and the necessary impeachment that follows is shifting at a far faster rate than expected. It just may be that the Senate will remove after all. Moscow Mitch is being faced with ever dire political consequences and I would think that even he has a point in his calculus that calls for throwing Trump under the bus.

Haha. Another nothing burger by the Dems. Movement to the "super secret" server was normal operating procedure after previously leaked phone calls. The whistle blower guidelines were secretly changed just days before Trump-Ukraine whistle-blower filed their complaint because previous whistle blower complaints could not use second-hand information.

“Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer told MSNBC’s host Rachel Maddow.

Hey stupid, Trump administration changed the rules for whistleblowers under the umbrella of the IRS and Trump signed it. What exactly are you bitching about?

lol. the new talking points folder. "Ignore actual procedural and legal precedent and claim that this new abnormal, highly niche decision was necessary because...we were doing other illegal things"

wow dude, you really have no hope.

"Just days before"? OK. We know where things are, we know the complaint was determined to be credible and urgent and Trump verified it. We know where the equivalent of today's Nixon Tapes are and it's a simple matter for those investigating to have them retrieved during an impeachment inquiry if the House so desires.

No biggie.

This is simply untrue. Why are you lying about this?

The whistle blower guidelines were secretly changed just days before Trump-Ukraine whistle-blower filed their complaint because previous whistle blower complaints could not use second-hand information.

“Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer told MSNBC’s host Rachel Maddow.

Considering the whistleblower turned out to be 100% correct that Trump was corruptly abusing his power it sounds like that was an excellent change and I'm sure you agree?

I mean imagine how damaging it would have been to America if the president was able to keep corruptly using his office in this way.

What are you saying? I know the super secret server has been used for some conversations that were....well super secret but nobody has used it for everything.
Regarding the leaks, those were coming from the White House, who hired or appointed these leakers?
Regardless of what rules were and what they currently are. Do you feel it’s okay for any President to lean on foreign countries for intel about his opponent(s)?

Right, it's not that conversations are NEVER stored there, it's that this conversation contained no national security information that would merit its storage there and was put there anyway.

As far as I can tell the GOP strategy is to just blatantly and constantly lie about all aspects of it.

The important point is that the server isn't important at this point as we are in an impeachment inquiry. The House subpoenas them with the warning about obstruction of the Constitutional powers of the House. Trump can refuse, claim EP and then face another Article and US vs. Nixon and all the consequences for those who participate along with Trump but have no standing as an Executive.

"It's in the super secret server".

"OK, we have that being monitored in case someone "accidentally" deletes or changes anything" We'll pick it up tomorrow".

Those who obstruct face 10 years unless there's a class A or B felony and that goes to 20 years. That's what Rudy potentially faces if he doesn't cooperate along with any other illegal activities, along with Barr or anyone else besides Trump or the Veep.

Yeah my nightmare scenario is if they get ordered deleted what is next?
I know the remedy is impeachment but with so few having access to what was on the recordings and the super secret status all the useful idiots will say he couldn’t release them because it’s top secret.

So an important element of this whole 'sekret server' thing that a few people may be missing/not know about. 99.9% of the US Mil server systems are Windows, which means in all likelihood this system was as well. MS has established ways of monitoring/auditing access to specific file server folders, not just for changes/deletions but for reads as well. If it was intended to protect this information from exfiltration, it would have been monitored, and Trump would know exactly who the 'leaker' was. Given that he doesn't know, that means the community that held the information didn't know (or I suppose might be lying to him, unlikely). If they didn't know, that means it wasn't being held in an official capacity where it'd be audited properly, which vastly increases the probability that this was thrown on there as an offhand notion, without proper oversight or awareness from those that should be monitoring such things. That doesn't pass the sniff test, and sounds enormously like someone was trying to cover something up/hide something.

I think you may be overly optimistic here. I think the more likely trajectory will be:

1) Congress: We're in an impeachment inquiry and are subpoenaing those conversations. Hand them over.

2) Executive: No.

3) Court battle ensues that takes the rest of Trump's first term.
