Although I'm not a Tebow fan, I cannot agree with the above unless you mean "same skill" set in a very general way.

Tebow runs like a damn fullback up the middle for tough yardage. And he does it often. In fact, he's been doing exactly that since he come onto the college scene.

I've never seen any other QB do that, and certainly not like him. He's the only QB I recall seeing in the pro's who's built like a fullback.

Huh? Cam Newton, Dante Culpepper and the Rapist are a just a few players bigger than Tebow that have run and rolled over defenders.

Those guys don't seem built like Tebow... they're taller and bigger though, but Tebow's got a stockier/bulkier frame for his size, whereas guys like Newton/Culpepper had long, striding legs.

I've never seen those guys run the football in a bruising sort of style, trucking dudes.

You know, after watching my Lions annihilate Tebow earlier this year all I could think is boy I wish the Lions were playing them in the first round. Now, I really don't know.

All from NFL.com:

Tim Tebow: 6'3", 236 lbs
Cam Newton: 6'5", 248 lbs
Ben Roethlisberger: 6'5", 241 lbs
Daunte Culpepper: 6'4", 260 lbs (don't know when these were last taken)

I don't know about the method of throwing or the exact mechanics of the professional quarterback but to see him win is a great thing.

Fact:

The team started out 1-4.
The Bronco's defense is old - The defense is old
Tebow has taken the team to the playoffs and won.

Speculation:

Tebow is a good quarterback.
Tebow is a bad quarterback.
The Bronco's team is good.
The Bronco's team is bad.

Opinion:

The Bronco's destined for a bad season turned it around when Tebow took control of the offense. For luck or skill the team looks much better than the 1-4 start.

Who cares how he wins or how he throws the ball. He atleast is taken his team to the playoffs and won.

People want it to be pretty apparently, it doesn't matter if he wins because some of his passes wobble a little bit.

Lets disregard the fact that he has yet to start even a full season having only started 14 (3 last, 11 this) in his career and already has a playoff win.

22 of the 32 QB's who started this season don't even have a playoff win.

Matt Ryan always looks fantastic (in the reg season), gets a new offensive weapon every year to play with and is 0-3 in the playoffs. I bet Atlanta fans love that.

Carson Palmer? Still hasn't even one a single playoff game, granted he has only been to two. The guy was never even that good and people fawn over him. I can't believe Cincinatti actually made a good decision for once and let him sit.

You guys continue to overlook and underrate Tebow, he thrives on it and it only makes it more fun for his supporters when he proves them right - and all of you guys wrong.

1. Tebow and the Broncos have already greatly outpaced expectations, and this season is already a gigantic success. Even if they get buttmurdered by the Patriots (13-3, playing at home, plenty of time to rest and prepare, one of the greatest QBs ever, one of the greatest coaches ever, vast postseason experience, etc, etc), it will not mean they have failed or proven any haters right. This year, Tebow got thrown into an Orton-oriented offense as a last resort with poor preparation, and he helped take them from 4-12 to 9-8...if you don't think that's a very good performance, you are stupid. Let's see what he does next year as the clear starter with a full training camp and more than three starts under his belt.

2. Broncos coaching deserves far more credit. Fox and Elway basically made an entire Thanksgiving dinner out of leftovers they found in the back of the fridge. Don't forget the Broncos had their worst season ever just last year. The play calling is gutsy and disruptive, and it gets the job done.

3. If you honestly think Tebow's completion percentage is more than vaguely relevant, you should really just be quiet and let the big kids talk. Big plays involve big risks. See: Barry Sanders, Troy Polamalu, Reggie Jackson, Larry Bird. Good coaches know that incompletions aren't always a bad thing.

4. If I'm Dan Marino, I'm really glad my record gets broken this year rather than a few years ago. When Matthew Stafford can crack 5k, you know the game has changed. It's like 1998 in MLB, only we have our eyes open this time. Or rather, we have them closed to different things.

5. If you really have to hate something, hating Tim Tebow is just about as low as you can possibly sink. The guy's a winner in every meaning of the word. Go hate air pollution, or flossing, or Youtube comments, or starving to death. If you really don't have anything better to do with your life than dislike Tim Tebow, you don't have a life at all.

We really need a Reps button or a Like button. Great post.

I feel like quoting this, because it's proof you secretly love the Patriots.

:p

Its proof he loves cheaters and wishes the Chargers knew how to cheat
------------------------------------------------------

Check out all the records Tebow broke:

1) Most yards passing in a QB playoff debut ever... breaking Elway's record.
2) 31.6 yards/completion-most EVER in a playoff game, 3rd most ever in any game, behind Joe Namath (1972 v Unitas) and Cecil Isbel (1940s).
3) 80 yd TD, longest overtime TD EVER.
4)11 Seconds: fastest overtime win EVER.

And then the crazy superstition... 316 yards passing, 31.6 yds/completion, 31:06 min. time of possession, John 3:16--Tebow's favorite verse. As if that's not bad enough, the refs were all named Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John...??

I'm as agnostic / nearly atheist as most everyone on this forum and even I think thats a pretty interesting coincidence.

Not enough credit goes to the Bronco's defense. They haven't been perfect, have gotten blown out a few times, but while Tebow was making his 'comebacks' in the 4th, the defense was stepping up and locking down opponents. Sunday was rare, where they almost gave up a large lead. But they didn't, and stuffed Pittsburg on their game-winning drive.

They take a lot of pride in the extra pressure of keeping a crippled qb, one who really struggles moving the ball most of the time, in the game, and they've delivered as much as Tebow.

It's got to be very energizing for them to have the Pats up next. The talk is whether or not Tebow can keep up, but no doubt the defense is only worried about stepping up and playing solid defense, keeping Brady from having a touchdown fest. They've got to have a chip on their shoulder that it's a forgone conclusion the Pats will score 35+ points on them, and how they respond is key...and I think they will respond well.

I agree, however, time and time again, particularly Champ Bailey, the d has stated Tebow is a driving force in their play. They feed off of him. Tebow may not be a technically-competent quarterback, but he is apparently a great leader.

Don't forget coach JOHN Fox and JOHN Elway, and apparently the 31.6 rating at the height of viewership during the game. :)

The 31:06 of possession time was for the Steelers, however.

 I'm fickle when it comes to football and since the Bills and Chargers are out and the Patriots are no longer the dominating team they were a few years ago my hatred for them has waned enough that I can actually root for them this weekend. Next weekend it might be a different story. :p

My love of the Bills and the Chargers is unwavering though.

You forgot the Ben Roethlisberger INT that happened on 3rd and 16.

I'm not an atheist nor any sort of tradtional Deist, but you may have more "true believer" in you than you might like to admit. :p

Steelers Broncos Wild Card Game Officials

Cam Newton: 6'5", 248 lbs
Ben Roethlisberger: 6'5", 241 lbs
Daunte Culpepper: 6'4", 260 lbs (don't know when these were last taken)

ok, yes, they're taller and heavier, like I said in my post. Thanks for clarifying?
