Yeah, Kyiv sent just twenty experienced drone operators and their hardware. I do believe the intel they provided to the rebels played a crucial roll in that speedy overthrow too. A real testament to what effective tactics and drones can accomplish, even at that scale.
Does this mean the rebels will help Ukraine against Russia ?

Oh that's gotta hurt Putins rectum far more than Kursk. Get fucked Vlad.
And yea, selling the ultimate collapse of Russia might be the selling ticket for some of these rebels! There has got to be a deep deep DEEP hatred for anything Russian in them. Sticking it back to the "barrel bombing civilian double tapping - Russians" must surely be a tempting offer.

That would actually be really neat. I imagine they have their own world to tend to but middle east rebels invading crimea was definitely not on my 2025 bingo card.
The best thing Syrians could do is take back their coastline from Russia.
It's not going to extend beyond their own borders. But as far as major blows to Russia go, that's good enough.

Maybe, though they have enough on their plate at this point. I think initially it will be just information on some of the weapons Russians ditched when they ran away.

I wouldn't be surprised if some Syrians, say people who lost family in the snuffing of Aleppo, went to Ukraine to kill Russians though. Out of revenge or out of thanks for Ukraine being instrumental in getting rid of a brutal dictator, whatever. I think we'll see some like the Chechens, after their Russian wars. People with dead families and nothing left to lose, only vengeance to gain.

Gotta give Zelenskyy huge props for this victory though. Talk about humiliating for Russia and Iran. Tehran's been kicking sand in his face by giving Russia drones and support. He waited until the time was right, then responded by sending an axe to remove an Iranian leg. Did the middle east and world at large a favor too. As losses of influence and control go, this was a big one.

You're next Putin, and I can't wait to celebrate it.

Hmm... sounds like the Kursk Russian command are under the gun to clear out Kursk of the Ukrainians before Trump gets into power.

With no vehicles for assault for Russia, I wonder when Ukraine will use its mechanised assault groups?

edit: ahh even the Russians are waiting for this...

NATO is the preferred solution.
Nuclear weapons are the alternative.
As has been noted in this forum, and I figure I might take it as maybe true, Ukraine sustaining nuclear weapons deterrent status would be a prodigious drain on its economy. NATO membership is therefore more practical and very possibly the only possible means of ensuring Ukraine's independence and long term freedom from Russian domination.

Edit: If Trump nixes Ukraine entry into NATO (who knows what the bastard is capable of?), might have to wait a few years for an opportunity for them to enter the greatest international alliance of all time.

There is an alternative.

Scandinavia, Finland, the Baltic States and Poland enters into a defense treaty with Ukraine. Their combined GDP is 50% greater than Russia (est - 2023).

If Trump denies Ukraine entry into NATO, the Europeans should just go it themselves. And if such an alternative becomes a serious option, can you see France sitting on the sidelines watching others showing a spine? If France joins in, it doubles the GDP of the alliance, so now its 3 times greater than Russia's.

Which means Russia needs to adopt total war to take another bite of Ukraine. A risky move given the field opposing it.

Probably undetectable.

You can already do that with cardboard, a la the Aussies, and I'll bet the electronics are better shielded from the weather. Low observable to radar, but then many are. As long as it's using an RF connection the basic detectors will still hear it.

This is actually how I see it unfolding, due to Trump's baby like ignorance of politics and strategy mixed with his subservience to Putin.

Would be far better if Trump pulls his head out of his ass, stops acting like this is just about territory and Russian defense excuses. C'mon Donnie! You want to let Macron and France steal America's freedom thunder? He's far smarter and much better looking than you too; your wife would probably rather fuck him than hold your hand. Time to earn some respect instead of vitroil or pity Cadet Bonespurs!

Edit: mea culpa, it's not the canucks with the cardboard/spray wax drones, that's Australia. Too early to keep my commonwealths straight I guess

Would be kinda cool seeing French tanks in Moscow and hearing songs from the Napoleonic era being played :)
