The verse for which you provided multiple translations is correct, no doubt here, and every single Muslim is aware of it.

You cannot take any of these Holy books literally. It takes a certain person to deeply comprehend these Holy texts. Whether it's Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism or any other religion. You cannot quote bits here and there and think you know what your talking about.

So slavery is a part of their society? How do you know this? Do you have personal experience or are you going on based on what others have said? And yes, it probably is but that has nothing to do with Islam. Just like people have taken advantage of Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and other religions, the same is happening with Islam.
