I think it's a good idea to have a thread where people can come and post a PB they made and videos. It'll help motivate people and it'll be easier for people to see lots of people's progress.

I benched 270 four years ago and deadlifted 350 when I was 18, many years ago. I am weaker now but fitter.

Nice! Strong 18yr old! My numbers were like 0 bench press as I didn't do it and 0 dl as I didn't do that either!

Any reason why you didn't continue? I'm at my most powerful, strongest and fastest. I'm not as lean but I wouldn't have it any other way :)

My best squat was a few weeks ago: 3x5 @ 215lbs.
Best DL was last year: 1x5 @ 225. I haven't done DL in a long time due to being so tired from squats. I'm sure I could do much more now as I was only squatting 185 back then.
Best Bench was last year as well: 155

Last year I was eating tons, drinking protein shakes, and gaining weight. I went from 170 to 185 but a lot of it was fat. Then I got mono and lost 20 pounds.

Finally got back in the gym around April and haven't really been trying to gain weight. I still weigh 165, but am now squatting over 200 (when I first started back after mono squatting 135 was hard). My bench still hasn't recovered, but i've always been weak there. While i'm not as big as I was, I feel like i'm much stronger now and in better shape overall.

I don't really care much for PB's in weightlifting anymore...never tried maxing out while I was doing it.

Run wise:

5K: 24:37
10K: 57ish (only run one in my life)
15K: 1:22:10
20K: 1:50:16
1/2 Marathon: 1:55:34
Full Marathon: 4:25:10

I'm hoping to run a sub 4 full in December at WR. Will try for a 1:45 1/2 either in early Nov or late Nov. All of my times have gradually decreased so I'm slowly getting better. (Leaps and bounds over last year)

That's why you're so freaking fast! You're a fast-twitch machine! Our 5K, 10K and hopefully marathon PRs are pretty similar, but there is no way I could come close to any of your PRs for any distance under that! Mine:

mile: 4:59
2 mile: 10:36
5K: 16:40
8K: 27:32
half marathon: 1:17:07
marathon: ask me in 10 days :D

I still do weights... I'm 31 now. I stopped doing deadlifts because I could never find a great way to do them without back issues. Let me tell you when I did the 350 I had a belt on and my form was _atrocious_. Bench I basically hit about 240-250 max when I was 18 as well and then it hung there for years until the five years ago I had another go at raising it. Then the next year I got into running and since then my interest in weights has massively gone down and been replaced by endurance sports. I do a lot of strengthening to support running (legs and the like), but upper body I hit about once a week just to keep what I have (or a reasonable facsimile of).

I could never compete in weight lifting but anybody can compete in endurance sports, which is extremely motivating regardless of where one is, front of pack or back.

Bench: 315x1 (I feel I'm lagging behind others of similar apparent muscular development here)
Squat: 295x2 (still can't get 315. Dunno what's going on there)
DL: 385x2 (going up quickly still. Kinda cool)
Bent over Row: 255 for several reps (didn't have the greatest form when I did this)
Pullups w/kipping: 25
OH press: 165x4
Dumbell press: 200x10

198 bodyweight, some were at 205ish. Bunch of lifts I haven't really worked on yet. I'm going to do tech work on snatching while doing my current program, also need to work on jerking as my numbers suck, trouble getting under. Also hoping for 405 deadlift on this program, finally got alternate grip working and back has felt pretty good lately. Squat is the only one I'm pretty happy with so far, but I want 365+ on this program.

mono? If your getting fat your eating too much carbs/ fats. If your getting fat ease up on the carb in take a bit or if it's not a lot of fat you can cut later.

Yeah it's a rock solid lift and strong for a tall guy who usually get the shaft when DL unless they are f0cking huge.

I couldn't compete in endurance sports. The pain is savage and it would take A LOT of training to convert over and I'd lose a lot of power and strength that I'm not willing to give up. But then it's not where my heart is so thats why I can't be assed to put down the training hrs to get better at endurance stuff. I can run a mile and thats pretty much blowing up :p

I was really happy to DL 200kg about a month ago. This is the first time that I've maxed out since hurting my back in 2005 where I prolapsed my L4. I've been OLifting heavy on it but not doing much in the way of pulls or DeadLifts as I was nervy on the back but not anymore. I'll hammer the DL hard next year and get some jacked pulls. Really going to hammer it down for the last 9 weeks of the year and then next year.

How many tris have you done? Your run times are ridiculous.

A lot of fast runners here. A couple of the other runners in this thread should check out triathlons. I always do quite well in the placing in the sprint tris and my run times are minutes slower than some other 5k times in this thread.

The pain is savage and it would take A LOT of training to convert over and I'd lose a lot of power and strength that I'm not willing to give up.

You would lose a lot converting over. The pain gets a lot, lot better though. As a kid/teen who used to run to lose weight I could never imagine running long distances as I hated it all, but in time as you build distance any given mile becomes so much easier than it used to be. Or you just get used to it more, but in any case I don't think an endurance athlete necessarily can tolerate more pain than a tough weight lifter. Doing a high-rep set of squats until your legs are wobbling is as painful as anything else I've ever encountered.

I've never done a triathlon yet. I've been really working on my swim recently. I have a tall slender body, with really long arms so I have an ideal swimmers body I just never swam until now. I'm hoping I can get out of the Lake in pretty decent position...

I am shooting for the longer distance though. I should probably think about the sprint distance. My run times are better the shorter I run. 4 seconds off the WR in the 400 is a lot better than several minutes off the WR in the 5k, let alone the 10k. Thats not to say I cant beat down most people in a 10k, I am just more dominant the shorter the race is.
