I was wondering about him having the bar so far away from his shins on the cleans? I haven't started doing them yet, but I'm interested in learning how. Isn't having the weight out in front of your body a bad thing? I see his back rounds which I would think makes him lose some power getting through the deadlift portion of the lift.
The bar shouldn't be on the shins for a normal person. Blood on the bar is not a good thing, a pain to clean and when people share a bar blood on it is never good. Most elite lifters have it closer, but thats because they are shorter so the bar is higher up on their shins to start with.
The bar will start about an inch away from the shin when your in the 'set' position but as you lift the bar will move towards your upper thighs

His back doesn't round that much, he has a thick back and the angle probably makes it worse then it is. His issue is that his hips rise a bit too fast relative to his shoulders. It should be more constant and he is see sawing which is wasted energy.
He use to do some PL and has done 160 back squat past parallel and 200kg DL.
He only trains once a week also on the Saturday as he drives an hr to come train! Dedication!
My goal with him is to qualify him for the U18 British Champs next year. He has until about August/ September 2011 if the comps in October time. He has to total 215 @ 85kg class for U18. My other lifter OxMan needs 207 @ 77 for U23 or 215 @ 85 U23.
