Got 102k on a C+J last week. First time back after an injury and got 2 plates, go figure. Form still needs a ton of work.

One thing I thought I'd point out to you on your 12 wide grip pull ups, is that you seem to be using your right side more towards the peak of the lift...like you are using your right side as it's probably a little stronger then lifting up with your left. I used to do the same thing, that's why I could notice it. It's pretty obvious on reps 8-12. I'm jealous of your coach/friend who's yelling at you! That'd be an awesome motivator but alas, I work out alone.

It's more apprent in the video then it feels. I've played Tennis fairly extensively for 12years, the last 4yrs less so. The right side of my back is quite noticeably thicker then my left side. The difference was a lot bigger 10yrs ago.

Thats my bros voice on my 135 C&J's. It's good to train in a club atmosphere. My sessions alone are practically worthless.

Cograts mate! How tall are youa nd how much do you weigh?

2 plates is decent milestone :D Keepit up!

Thanks. I'm 5'11" and weigh 195lbs. Started doing O-lifts about a year ago but form still hasn't "clicked" yet. Feet jumping forward etc.

Hopefully some day I'll be able to throw up some serious weight like you.

Aight. I'm 5'10 and use to be 75kg. 10yrs later and 3 weight classes, 77, 85 I'm lifting in the 94's as a light 91kg :p

Just make sure you finish your 2nd pull properly, this will avoid you going forwards on receive. Just takes a lot of training to get it.

Holy crap I feel like a pu$$y reading this thread, then again I have only been lifting & eating correctly for a year. Not ever lifting weights in high school and most of college sucks.

Lets just say my goal is to hit the 225lbs 5reps bench press club before the end of the summer.

Go for it mate. I couldn't lift jack sh!t when I started. The only thing I had was I could jump and I was good on pull ups. No real strength besides that! I benched 100 for 16reps the other day off the cuff with little BP work!

My boy Regieski:
+8kg on the Snatch
+1kg on the C&J
+5kg on the Clean

I was wondering about him having the bar so far away from his shins on the cleans? I haven't started doing them yet, but I'm interested in learning how. Isn't having the weight out in front of your body a bad thing? I see his back rounds which I would think makes him lose some power getting through the deadlift portion of the lift.

The bar shouldn't be on the shins for a normal person. Blood on the bar is not a good thing, a pain to clean and when people share a bar blood on it is never good. Most elite lifters have it closer, but thats because they are shorter so the bar is higher up on their shins to start with.

The bar will start about an inch away from the shin when your in the 'set' position but as you lift the bar will move towards your upper thighs

Look at this diagram:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ph.chea/Snatch Tech/Snatch Technique.jpg

His back doesn't round that much, he has a thick back and the angle probably makes it worse then it is. His issue is that his hips rise a bit too fast relative to his shoulders. It should be more constant and he is see sawing which is wasted energy.

He use to do some PL and has done 160 back squat past parallel and 200kg DL.

He only trains once a week also on the Saturday as he drives an hr to come train! Dedication!

My goal with him is to qualify him for the U18 British Champs next year. He has until about August/ September 2011 if the comps in October time. He has to total 215 @ 85kg class for U18. My other lifter OxMan needs 207 @ 77 for U23 or 215 @ 85 U23.

Yesterday session

Snatch 120kg in training +2kg, equal comp PB :D
Wide Grip Pull ups x 13reps : +1 rep PB

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc9BT1H9LXk

Fairly poor on the Cleans, got under but couldn't stay tight, did weighted hypers on Saturday, haven't done that for years, back was fried I'm guessing? Never failed Cleans so badly...had to regroup and focus my sh!t! Donny Shankle!!!!

My boy:

Snatched 80kg @ 83kg bw, only 3kg away from bw! 18yrs! I'm a f0cking immense coach! He's had 12 training sessions over the past 4months :D

Note: he's exceptionally strong to start with (already back squat 160kg atg, dl 200kg, can front squat 146kg x2reps after 4months of front squating), did some PL before, had sh!t mobility as he was lazy, stretched like a mofo for months properly to improve, trains ridiculously heart and takes instruction like a fluffer. I'm aiming for a 185kg total to take him to the British U18 Championships in October. We have until September to qualify. His next comp is in 3.5 weeks.

80/96 are his best for a 176 total. We need another 9kg to qualify. We should be able to edge 3-4kg on the Snatch in comp, maybe 5kg when we taper correctly and hopefully add the rest on the C&J. He's Cleaned 100 but not Jerked it. He was fairly close to 97 but I beast him with 6x6 front and back squats during the week heavy to push his training stamina up.

Recent for me:

400 DL
205 Clean and Jerk

the C & J I hit last night with hardly any heavy C & J work. Lots of high reps work on the cleans at like medium-low intensity ~135lbs . It probably wasn't my max max, I felt pretty strong on it.

It's good to refine technique at the lower and medium intensities. A lot of people rush to lift heavy then wonder why they fail to Clean it when it goes to their chest...because they are pulling with their arms! Doh!

Dumbell Flat Bench Press: 115 lbs. for 3 reps! Never really tried to set a record here during my last bulk. Tried to snag the 120s, which are as high as my gym goes, but I was fatigued so I missed. I'll get them next week!

Hit 14 handstand pushups in a row today for a PR. Not to jinx it, but my shoulder is feeling good :) Yay for people about to do overhead presses.

No, not at all. I've loved doing handstands all my life so perhaps my vestibular apparatus is used to it or something. Congrats on the DB bench PR btw, man. Quite impressive.

Thanks friend.

I'm actually going to try doing the hand stand pushups next time I work my upper body
