Resists are 75, 76, 56 and -13%. I changed some gear last night and it helped, did a couple of tier 1 maps (magic, not rare) easily enough. I started using ancestral warchief too, just 1 for the added damage and heal

1. I didn't see a 2nd Weight of the Empire on your tree. Maybe I missed it but you should grab a jewel slot and socket one in soon as possible,
2. The mana leech support linked to Stone Golem. Just remember that it will leech for the golem and not for you.
3. You want movement speed on those boots.
4. Life and resists are king early mapping. You want life on pretty piece of gear if possible and max resists. Don't worry about Chaos res too much.
How much currency do you have saved right now? 6-link swords are pretty cheap and I'm sure you can grab a decent one for around 12 chaos or less. I'll keep an eye for gear that's good for your build.

You don't have life on your rings, belt or gloves. You're only scaling physical damage so you don't want elemental/fire damage on your stuff. You're only running a 3 link sword because you have life leech in a slot AND it's not doing anything for you because you're already capped. Without Vaal Pact you're limited to 2% life leech and you have 6.4% right now. Putting Melee Physical Damage in its place will give you 40% more damage then you're doing right now. A 1 fusing Doomsower sword does 10% more damage then your current weapon. You can get the 5link The Jewelers Touch prophecy for 29cc and a 1 fusing Doomsower. Putting in Brutality on top of Melee Physical Damage gives you 100% more damage then you do now. It's actually a bit over double damage.

You REALLY need to finish cruel and Merc labs so you can generate endurance charges. Ask me if you see me online and I can run you through all of them if you need it( VeryDescriptName is the toon).

I forgot about flasks. You want to have...
Quicksilver flask. Grab one from guild stash.
Diamond and/or Silver flasks.
Granite flask.
Life flask.
Mana flask if you're having mana problems.
There's probably better flasks for your build but these are the cheap one that can get you pretty far.

Also, on any flask, you want immunity to freeze on one and immunity to bleed on another.

I have most flasks, just have to equip them and was doing life because of constant death. For now I swapped out my leech on the sword for brutality which added ~6k DPS to Heavy Strike. I'm also 1 point from Vaal pact so I'll have to add life leech back when I get the 5 link sword. I have my 2nd Weight of the Empire, after Vaal Pact I'll work on the left jewel between Barbarism and Juggernaut.

Currency situation is crap but I'm working on it. I had the 30% boots from the guild bank but swapped them for more armor as I was getting plastered. Resists are fine but I'll look on more life, specifically on the 4 slots Vivendi mentions.

Man, no wonder I suck, there's a whole science behind maximizing your build.

Edit: Productive morning, got Vaal Pact and the 2nd Weight of the Empire Gem... will do cruel lab later today.

I quit. The lack of red map drops in this league (let alone high yellows) is a joke. I'm pretty much stuck on T8 right now and I'm running out. I can walk through those maps for the most part - gaining little XP and getting crap for drops. GGG has to fix this or they are going to lose tons of people. Reddit is pretty livid as well.

At first I thought it was just me. I'm running 36% MF right now (2x10% ventors and + 16% sadimas), and trying to save up for a Windripper but I just can't get any good drops. I know MF doesn't change map drop rate but still can't find any currency. First I thought it was just that there were less mobs in this league but there's definitely other nerfs. I'd sextant my maps but it looks their drop rate got nerfed as well. I've found a single encroaching darkness card so far so I think they nerfed that too. I've only gotten Zana in maps twice so far which feels really low going by my experience in past leagues.

Bought 50+ T6 and T7 maps and ran them all plus all the T5s I had. All alched, some chised, a few unided rare. I've got four T8 maps to show for all that.

GGG has nerfed everything to death. I remember when I started playing in Essence how common it was to find good strongboxes, now they all just suck. Even found a unique strongbox yesterday which dropped... 1 unique worth nothing.

I'm doing to same stuff to progress my atlas as I do every league and this league... I just can't do it. I'm just stuck on T7 and nothings dropping.

Yeah. It's pure crap at this point. End game content (and even the crap just before it,) it's completely jacked up. They need to fix it asap or people are going to leave.

If you guys needs maps I can put some in the stash. I can't really say for sure if the map drops are worse or better yet this league but I have 2 regular tabs full of white, 1.5 tabs full of yellow and about 30 red maps. Personally, I just buy the maps I need to progress and I get my atlas number up. Once you have 100-125+ on your Atlas you get much better sustain. I've never had any luck just trying to progress from my own map drops even years ago so I just stopped trying.

I'm not sure what to think of the map drop rate as well. For the last three leagues it has seemed to get worse and worse, I used to just burn up my tier 1 to tier 5 maps make chisels. My luck has been so bad this league I couldn't even sustain those low level maps without a couple of bulk buys and blowing a big chunk of my currency buying maps from Zana..

On the positive side they seemed to have greatly improved the chances to catch yellow and red beasts with the latest patch. On the negative side of that, so what? The vast majority of the recipes are mediocre.

I'm focusing on building a lab runner now. I trying to make myself enjoy the lab. I need one more trial for uber and I refuse to buy it-I want to see how long it takes for that to turn up.

Mapping has sucked every single league except Harbinger. That is the only league I've been able to sustain red maps at all.

So this league I didn't even try. I've shaped burial chambers and made it so that's the only T8 or T9 that can drop. I've then been rolling maps with ridiculous mods, throwing in sacrifice pieces, and using Fortune Favors the Bold in the map device.

The results have been okay so far. I'm probably sustaining maps but losing currency unless I sell things. I had a couple of 20ish chaos sells last night that put me well positive for the weekend, but I think I was negative before that. I think I'll be able to hit level 92 running this, and who knows I may drop a Doctor card.

What is your IGN?

I try to include people when I run maps but most of the time no one responds to me when I ask.

You guys should have stayed 1 more map. I did T14 Colosseum and it dropped 2 T10 maps, 1 T12 map, 5 T14 maps and 2 T15 maps. It was was really ridiculous at the end.

So is it better to run high maps or to rush through lower tier maps? Are we looking at quantity or quality? I've just been rushing through tiers 1-5m, would it be better to start on yellow maps?

I finally got my build together last night so I'm sitting at 56k defense (should be closer to ~65k, not sure I'll get there but I'd be happy at 60k) with my resists other than chaos at 75%. Abyssus is the only thing I haven't added yet, I have to make sure my mitigation is high enough that it won't kill me.

Depends what you want to do. If you're grinding experience just run the highest tier you can run at a fast, safe pace. If you're item or currency farming, then I personally like to roll maps like Arid Lake that have a nice layout and/or a boss bonus opportunity.

Regardless of the approach, it's important to fill your Atlas.

You want to complete all maps of a tier before you move on to the next one. The way map drops work, only maps which are connected to the map you're currently running or are completed can drop. So If you're running tier 8 maps and you have a bunch of tier 6 and 7 maps not done yet (and which aren't connected to the tier 8 maps you're running) they'll never drop.

@rstrohkirch was 100% right. If you fill out your atlas more or less in order - connecting all the maps - then they drop quite frequently and decently. I ran a few maps last night and each one produced 3-6 maps each. Many of them were the same tier or higher than the tier I was running.

I've got my Atlas set up to just drop Shaped Burial Chamber maps at T8 and T9, and I've got it going pretty well sustainability wise. Here's what I've learned.

I ran through about 150 chaos worth of Fortune Favors the Bold.
It's not worth it. I wasn't getting increased map drops. I got some coins, and actually managed to drop 2 exalt shards, but I just rolled through the chaos with very little return.

Chisels are worthless. I've had more success with map drops since I ran out of chisels. Now, it's probably an aberration since every guide ever says to chisel your maps, but for me they just don't seem to do anything at all...

Almost every time I have packsize over 20% I drop another Shaped Burial Chamber. Fortune Favors the Bold didn't seem to help map drops at all, nor did quantity seem to matter. Also, Fortune Favors the Bold is pretty dangerous... I spawned Abaxoth twice and died once to him... What a pain.

Sextants are a HUGE help, particularly the stupid barrel one that spawns the slugs (seems like it doubles the mobs on a map). I ran yesterday with two sextants from level 88 to 89 and increased my overall map pool from 10 to close to 20. This was a lot better than Fortune Favors the Bold.

Prophecies help, but they are extremely random... I've been really enjoying the new recipes that allow you to gain 5 prophecies or to seal all prophecies. Sometimes you can string 4 prophecies in a map. Sometimes you get stuck with some terrible ones.

Also its really hard for me to keep track of all these things. I'd roll a really good map only to find that I didn't put new sextants on, or I'd keep running without filling up my prophesies. It feels a lot like Legacy league where I kept forgetting to put in new league stones...

Yesterday I grabbed all the unidentfied magic maps in my stash and ran those unided, lots of loot from those. I just unlink my Tornado shot and fire a test shot at the first mob I see, if it's elemental reflect, I portal out.

I'll put more yellow maps in.

Thanks I took a couple of the T9 ones.

Also, I had a question. What usually happens to the chaos:exalted ratio as a league goes on...? I'm just wondering whether I should be converting my chaos into exalts or not.
