Right leaning media already trying to frame Trump as causing every good thing. They will make up anything up to promote that scumbag.

Came across this one. I met an oil trader back in Nov and he told me oil prices will fall early 2025. The US is already the #1 oil producing country in the world. Right wing media will lie to everyone that Trump is responsible.

The Telegraph
And while left leaning media wont cant do that its always going to be a losing battle.

So. Trumpy puts the tariffs in place. Has he mentioned what they will do with that source of revenue?

As one of the comments suggests, the likelihood seems to be that Trump got confused between the term "windfall tax" and "windmills". There seems to be no connection between North Sea offshore wind turbines and that oil company withdrawing from the UK - it seems rather that they were upset about being taxed, probably particularly the 'windfall tax' on the recent increases in profits caused by external events.

It is amazing how little it takes to confuse him....

Putting this here because we don’t need another “Trump is an incompetent piece of shit” thread.

Any of you who voted for him care to answer this challenge. Not just reading a speech but talking from personal knowledge or answering g a question.

On the impending Trump military adventure in Mexico. All the operators comparing the potential effort gleefully to Iraq and Afganistan...um I do not think the country is largely happy with how those turned out. The cartels are going to react and the means terrorism against a million and a half Americans living in Mexico who we cannot protect and also stuff here at home. Sending the military into Mexico is an exceedingly poor idea that could very easily go sideways in a lot of ways.

I guess somebody woke up to the fact that tariffing food probably wasn't a great idea. But the concept that tariffing raw material inputs isn't gonna raise prices is also still really wrong and that alone is most definitely not going to raise the kind of money the Rs are talking about for their tax bill. Also likely to kick off rounds of retaliation they'll want to respond to.

The potential change reflects a recognition that Trump’s initial plans — which would have been immediately noticeable in the price of food imports and cheap consumer electronics — could prove politically unpopular and disruptive. But consideration of universal tariffs of some kind still reflects the Trump team’s determination to implement measures that can’t be easily circumvented by having products shipped via a third country.

Exactly which imports or industries would face tariffs was not immediately clear. Preliminary discussions have largely focused on several key sectors that the Trump team wants to bring back to the United States, the people said. Those include the defense industrial supply chain (through tariffs on steel, iron, aluminum and copper); critical medical supplies (syringes, needles, vials and pharmaceutical materials); and energy production (batteries, rare earth minerals and even solar panels), two of the people said.

Looking forward to my cheap bourbon when the export demand collapses due to retaliatory tariffs.

There are a lot of more rare and allocated bottles that head abroad which I would quite enjoy getting my hands on.

After all I need something to toast the big tax cut lower and middle income Trump voters have decided to use to force their money into my pockets with.

EV batteries and solar panels? Since when did Trump, P2025, or his administration want green technologies?

lol, lmao even
Old dotard Trump could never comprehend the costs his tariffs will impose on the American people.
His campaign slogan was effectively "Make prices higher again" and the American voters largely agreed.
Here comes the pain.
