So far FO3 is a complete waste of $20. Can't even get the game to play; if I'm lucky enough to get it to launch, it freezes shortly after the opening cinematic. This game is only like two years old, why is it so fucking difficult?

KT

Geez really? This partially is why I saw my PC time shift just to SC2 and WOW (with occaisonal LOL). Games are fixed without huge show stoppers, and there are patches to fix issues (hell for SC2 patches are mainly for balance changes....and even though WOW was horrible for a while with bugs, atleast Blizzard was constantly fixing and updating the game)

You know i was thinking that I should try FO3 and RPG-FPS would be interesting....but now I won't. I would have assumed the original is stable at this point since NV came out, but I guess I am dead wrong.

Running a quad core cpu? Do a Google search, there's a couple of ini file settings to make so it won't lock up.

Just picked up The Witcher for $5. Now that Batman has been solved it's off to another game.

yeah, AA is a pretty quick game. I feel like if I sat down and played it straight, it would take less than a day to finish it, then I could run through it a few times and get it down to maybe 2-3 hours total completion time. Super fun and easy and short enough for speed runs.

...like Super Metroid. holy fuck, I must have played that game like 10 million times, haha.

I really want to pickup Sim City 4 because my disc are unusable, but at retail you can get the pack along with Societies and the expansion which supposedly makes that game passable. I wonder if Steam is ever going to pony up and add the whole package...

Nope, only a dual core. Saw the quad issue, but no help for me.

Where were you 10 posts ago? :colbert:

Honestly I have tried everything. Seems like this is just a complete waste of $20. :|

I'm sorry, KT. Different setups will exhibit certain issues I think. I bought Fallout 3 last spring, and the bugs have been very minimal for me. Try it on another computer maybe? There's gotta be some way you can rule out what's causing the problem.

Meanwhile, I'm playing Resident Evil 5, and I'm enjoying it. It has the same level of atmosphere/suspense that Resident Evil 4 had on the gamecube.

Just get SimCity 4. I wouldn't touch societies with a 10 foot pole.

The Unreal Pack quite clearly says "All Unreal Games" but if you look at what actually comes with it before you purchase, it's only the old ones. Talk about false advertising.

very disconcerting. One of the reasons I held off, was this bug issue that I read about. I don't know the details, but looking at this on a 2 year-old game....wtf. this kind of crud is inexcusable. especially when Bethesda is charging "like new" prices for this experience. :colbert:

I thought the biggest problem was GFWL. it seems like it's worse than that.

Guess I will wait for ~7.50 price. :\

It just seems not to like some hardware. My system in sig(quad core w/HT) runs fallout 3 fine, didnt even need to do the ini hack. which seems weird from what i have seen posted.

Sure it crashes sometimes but like maybe once or twice a week with 10-20 hours of gameplay so its not a major issue. Also i played it on PS3 first and it even crashed on ps3 about as often as it is on my PC.

I was going to post the same thing. I played Fallout 3 on a quad core machine with pretty close to zero problems. The only thing I remember being annoying was that VATS would slow to a crawl at times. There was some easy fix for this that I can't recall at this point.

Good luck getting it to work! I'm sure you'll have a great time with it when you do.

F03 has ran perfect ever since I bought it. Never had any of the issues he speaks of. FOV also runs great too.

Just pick the game up for yourself and don't base it off of his machine. It could be related to some issues that your particular pc doesn't have as his does.

I'm pretty sure that's not possible.

Presumably you could do it if you bought it using its own unique account and then gave away the password for that account?

I still don't like Steam unless things are massively on sale, for this reason amongst others. But these sales are clever in inducing you to buy stuff even when by the time you get round to playing it (like, years later!) its gone down to that price everywhere anyway.

Not sure what you mean. It includes everything up to UT3. To my knowledge there hasn't been an Unreal game since.

Ugh, feel asleep last night without putting my order in, so I'll have to see if I can do so over the mobile or it'll be no witcher for me.

I picked up Defense Grid (gift, thanks Evadman), Puzzle Quest and The Witcher yesterday as well as gifting the Witcher to my brother. I'm now itching for today's deals to show up =)

Anyone have an 'inside track' on the deals coming out today? If anyone can list the deals sometime today I'm sure we would all appreciate it.

uh...what Unreal games came out after Unreal Tournament 3? In the Steam pack I see Unreal, Unreal 2, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Unreal Tournament 3. Only one it seems to be missing is 2003...

So I went to Epic's site to see what games might have come out and there is no mention about ANY Unreal game on their site. WTF?
