Just proves that some people really get indoctrinated into a sports team. Sadly most don't know it and even refer to the team as "we won" or "we lost". Truely amazing form of marketting. What is even more amazing is how people pour their money into trinkets.

The Flyers absolutely dismantled Carolina tonight. 8-1. Favorite goal was probably the shorty after the Carolina goalie had made a nice save, but the defense coughed up the puck to Giroux at the blue line. Skated it in, passed to Richards, no chance.

the hurricanes were more than their usual stupidly fucking retarded tonight. im going to start a website to take donations...for every $20 bucks I get, im going to mail paul maurice a box full of bungee cords to tie cam ward and justin peters to the damn posts. its *astounding* how much those guys leave the crease with the worst possible timing.

It probably has to do with how often they take dives and get favorable calls.
That Kings/Stars game last night was a freaking joke. Brown flung his head back and acted like he got hit by a bus, but the Dallas defense man was still a foot away.
Then the disallowed goal for the Kings, due to goalie interference, but no penalty is called? WTF.
Oh, then a Dallas player barely touches a Kings guy and he falls down. The Dallas player gets a 5 minute boarding major and a game misconduct. A little later a Kings player rams a Star face first into the dasher and only gets a 2 minute roughing call?

That has to be one of the worst officiated games I have ever had the misfortune of watching.

Yeah, after the torturous offseason Devils fans had to endure, this is our reward. I'm sure it's providing plenty of mirth and shadenfreud for Flyers, Rangers, and Kings fans.

I don't even care anymore, it's absolutely hilarious how bad the Devils are. I think Kovalchuk is on pace for about 15 goals this year. I don't think I've ever seen an NHL team play this poorly.

Amazing that they were predicted to be at the very least a competitive playoff team. I guess we'll be drafting Larsen...

i was keeping tabs on the score and trust me...i was crossing my fingers for edmonton to beat the devils. i would have taken people out for shot if they had managed that shit.

canes in montreal tonight...hopefully we dont get raped, but im damn certain we arent going to win.

Dubnyk played his ass off... the Oilers should have had that W!!

The Philadelphia Flyers continue to lock up key pieces of their organization as forward Jeff Carter has agreed to terms on a new 11-year, $58 million contract extension.

The cap hit for Carter's new contract will be a reasonable $5.27 million starting next season. He was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on July 1st as he is in the final year of his deal that will see him earn $5.5 million this season.

I guess its not too bad of a cap hit for "Wides".

Was at the game tonight. Carter did nothing of note. Except flub a few shots, miss the net a couple times and generally play around the perimeter. Thats alot of money to time up in a guy that is as streaky as him. In an 82 game season he'll do all his damage in 40 games and is barely noticeable in the rest.

Now they have to sign Leino and they will be set.
 
canes sucked another big one last night....not remotely surprised. Maybe they will fare better against ottawa


however...my fantasy team picked up 200 points last night, bumping me into first, so...it all worked out
 
Carter's deal is cap friendly for a player of his caliber, with his shortcomings.

But seriously, the most important Flyers FA deal already got done. Claude Giroux. He's one of the best skill players in the entire league, and he's only getting better.

Ville Leino needs a contract too. I'd rather have Leino than Carter, so this needs to get done.

Sorry dude 🙁 I was at the game yesterday, it was absurd all around. It looked like the Oil took all of the momentum away for a bit when they had those 2 quick goals, and then things got out of hand. Gaborik was a monster on breakaways.

I wonder how the league will decide to punish Avery for yet another stunt (if at all).
