i saw the replay of the punch tonight (i had stopped watching when it was 5-2 Rangers) and i didn't think it was THAT bad. kinda looked like Smid backed off as much as "turned away". i think Avery's stance of dominance may have made him backpedal a bit. either way, that was some haymaker 😀

Damn you Pittsburgh. That was a pretty amazing goal by Crosby though and I can't fault him because he won us the gold... so good game Penguins.
 
canes murder the senators...the sens were clearly off their game tonight, and if eric staal played regularly like he did tonight i wouldnt bitch about him so much.

Go fuck'in Wings. Every player on this team can be much better except for one and that is because Jimmy Howard is playing out of his mind.

1 vs. 2 for the Norris Division 🙂 and the Wings came out on top.
 
btw...does anyone think its a little odd or inappropriate to keep talking about the personal even affecting the senators? just seems really strange the way it gets mentioned

I haven't watched any senators games recently, but I think it would be inappropriate if the event was discussed randomly in the play by play.

just seems like mentioning the guys 14 year old kid killed herself is...too much information. untimely death? ok. suicide? jesus...who wants everyone to know that?
 
That has no place during the broadcast. The most that should happen is an offer of condolences to the friends and family of assistant coach Luke Richardson over the loss of their daughter (show picture of daughter) once during the pregame and again during the game going to a commercial. That should be the end of it.

It might make sense during the broadcast to say that they're short behind the bench with Luke off for bereavement or explain why someone is taking his place if there is some sort of goof up on a line change or something.

Insane game between Philly & TB tonight.

Ridiculously entertaining to see the scores keep going up & them updating constantly on NHL on the Fly.

Pretty much expected that, though surprised it took till the end.

Now we lose in OT or the shootout.
