Kevin Hatcher and Jeremy Roenick went into the US Hockey Hall of Fame last THU...I was there at the game when Hatch broke JR's jaw right before the playoffs back in 1999. JR was about 3 feet from the bench when he spit out a bunch of blood right where the players enter the bench...He was about a foot off the ground when his shoulder forced JR's jaw against the glass...

NJ Devils through 10 games: 17 goals scored and 35 goals against. Absolutely unreal.

This is a team with Ilya Kovalchuk, Zach Parise, Patrik Elias, Travis Zajac, Jamie Langenbrunner, Dainus Zubrus... and Martin Brodeur.

We may well be in the running for the #1 overall pick.

guess this wont be the throwaway year then 😉

canes lost to the caps...im semi surprised as they usually put up a good fight against them. there was some disagreement about a goaltender interference call over the first goal, but when I saw the replay I didnt really agree with it even needing a face off.

5 power plays, and another extra man at the end and the canes still got shut out. meh. maybe theyll fare better against pittsburgh saturday (ill be at the game), but it would take a miracle.

Well fuck... Craig Anderson out indefinitely w/ a knee injury

We don't have a good enough defense for just any goalie to survive back there so I think we're pretty much screwed.

Fucking Colorado sports are falling apart ARGH

They sure look good, and looked great last night. Not defensively the whole time but the third period they were stellar.

Chris Stewart scored his second hat trick in his second year in the league. Leads all Right Wingers in the league with 8 goals and 6 assists in 10 games. Last year would have led all goal scorers in the entire league except that he was sent down to the OHL for 2+ months of the season. Still led all goal scorers from the time he got back to the end of the season, yes that includes Sid, Ovechkin or Stamkos. And nobody even knows who he is. They will after this year.

John Michael Liles leads all defenseman with 11 assists in 10 games. He broke the record all time for most assists in consecutive games as a defenseman at 9 games and extended it to 10 games last night.

Duchene is improving in some parts of his game, and is seriously just one of the fastest players on the ice in the entire NHL. He just needs to get smarter and he is going to be a huge threat.

Yip simply amazes me, another goal last night and O'reilly had 3 assists. That 3rd line is one of the best in the league.

There is a lot to like about the Avalanche this year.

Anderson will not be out as long as you might think, 6 weeks at the most. Budaj may not be able to fill his shoes and we may need to outscore people but we can. Graham will be our backup and might suprise some people and take the "starting" job from Budaj until Anderson gets back.

Plus we still have Shattenkirk, Cohen and Guance to call up on defense. They will probably need a year in the minors to get ready but Shattenkirk is the #2 defensive prospect in the entire league and will be a monster for us once he is ready.

A LOT to like

More info on Anderson, looks good - off Rotoworld

Craig Anderson's agent, Justin Duberman, said his client's knee injury is "nothing serious."
The Avalanche said Anderson is out indefinitely, but he won't require surgery. "We hope that with treatments he will come back as soon as possible, but (we) do not know how long he will need," Avalanche VP Jean Martineau said. Anderson was off to a rocky start this season, but he is the single biggest reason the Colorado Avalanche made the playoffs in 2009-10. He had a 38-25-7 record with a 2.63 GAA and .917 save percentage in 71 starts last season. Oct. 29 - 3:07 pm et

lol i can't see him going back to the Spits but you never know... :awe:

a 3-4-2 record isn't too shabby after that start. nice to see them pot 7 on the Hawks too, with the young guns clicking 🙂

lovin the new coach too 🙂

Wings/Preds tonight. Go Preds!

BTW, you know the season is in for some fun when you've already got 3 or 4 of your main guys out. But that's hockey and better early than late I guess.

That would be Darien Hatcher, not Kevin Hatcher.
The Dallas Stars original goon.

Can't wait for tomorrow. Get to watch Sid the Kid act like his typical cry baby self when he plays the Stars.

woo hoo, 4 tix for 90 bucks Canadian including shipping. score. i still love ebay for some stuff. 22.50 per ticket... cheaper than a frickin Spits game! 🙂

😱

Can't get a single Canucks Ticket for that Price. A recent News Report showed that for a British Columbian living outside Vancouver(requiring Airfare/Accommodation), it was cheaper for them to buy an Overnight Package to California to watch the Canucks than it was to do the same in Vancouver. :colbert:
