What's the matter with your signal? :p I can't believe how bad the signal is on this phone.

I hope Google picks a different partner for the next Nexus. Either Moto or HTC. I don't care. Both usually have amazingly built devices with at least great (HTC) to amazing (Moto) signal/quality.

Mostly it is the sudden drop problem that has been well documented online but I have other issues as well. Sometimes it will show that I have service but I wont receive my calls or emails for hours. I had an OG droid for two years but the gnex may be my last Android phone. I need something that actually works.

To be honest with you, there are PLENTY of Android devices that don't suck. I just think this phone didn't get the hardware it truly deserved. I think Samsung knew this might take away from their Galaxy S3 phone so they put this on the back burner which is why official accessories for it are far and few between and that's why they didn't come out till about 3 months after the device.

All the Moto devices are pretty good, but they're locked down. HTC phones can be unlocked, but Verizon blows and chooses the wrong phone/messes up the phone in transition to the carrier.

Man, I hate VZW so much.

Droid Life and TheVerge ran an article today that Samsung was going to get the JellyBean Nexus too. :/ Samsung makes some decent devices, they're all over the map with quality and support.

I saw those articles, but they're sourcing it from DigiTimes, and they're so hit-or-miss on their speculations that I'm taking this with a giant tub of salt and not believing this for a second.

I just don't understand why Samsung can't focus a little harder on their products and make something good and worthwhile instead of rushing it out the door. I feel like that's a big factor in their approach with a lot of their Android devices they've recently released.

The signal drops when the frequency of the processor goes too low. Its a problem with the stock kernel.

A Moto Nexus would be great. All the good bits of Moto with the crud left out. Stick a removable battery and a microSD on it and it would be my first Motorola in a long time.

So I have Samsung sending me a return label and such. I can ship out the phone and get it warranty repaired.

However... I don't have another device to use so I can't really do anything. I'm going to have to find a smartphone for VZW to use as a loaner or to just borrow for the time being while the phone is being repaired.

Does anyone have one on here they can lend me? :(

Samsung for the past year has hands down made the best phones.. Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Nexus are all incredible and blew away everything else. The Galaxy Nexus was/is so good that a lot of reviewers are considering it competitive with the One X; it's pretty unheard of for big name reviewers to ever really be indecisive about which phone to recommend when comparing a last gen device to a next gen one. What's wrong with them continuing to make the Nexus? Because it's plastic?

Yes, exactly that. Hold a Razr and a GN in both hands and tell me which one feels more luxurious. Not talking about the specs or anything else, just the feel in hand.

I've got no problem with Google choosing Samsung again. They're light, comfortable to hold, and look great. Though in the end it doesn't matter to me as a Verizon customer, they've shown us that even with a Nexus they'll hold back updates needlessly.

The Nexus. The Razr does not feel comfortable in my hand at all, and the physical build of the phone is downright ugly (weird edges, top heavy makes it unstable while using one handed, ugly thick bezel on the sides).

The Nexus looks very sleek, you see no branding on the front, no visible buttons, and its curved shape makes it easier to hold and use.

I will admit that the Razr is a nicer looking phone than the Nexus imo but the Nexus is way easier to hold. The Razr hurt my hand after holding it for a while.

Thoroughly agreed. I'm absolutely loving my Nexus and now after this announcement will probably forego the S3 altogether and wait for the Nexus Prime or whatever they end up calling it later this year.

Absolutely love the minimalistic look of the front of the Nexus.

Buttons are because it was pre-ICS. I had a Razr for about a month before I got my GN. Ill agree with you about the bezel but everything else, the Razr just felt much better.

Pre-ICS is no excuse though, that's just another downside to the phone as well.

I dunno how it feels better to hold. Do you use the phone one handed? The weight is so top heavy that it always feels like it's going to fall over out of my hand, especially when reaching for any of the nav buttons.

Yes and I never noticed the weight up top at all. Its a mix of the kevlar back versus the flimsy plastic back plate of the GN, the use of OG on the Razr, the thinness of the body etc.

It is an excuse, how else can you do without the nav buttons?

They could have designed it for ICS, but in typical Motorola fashion they had to meet their 20 phones a year mark. We've already had the Maxx, and soon we're going to have the Razr HD as well. I guess that means we'll also have a Razr Maxx HD...

How could they have designed it for ICS, including a lack of nav buttons? ICS was not ready to launch on any phone (save for the Nexus phones) anywhere NEAR the time the RAZR was launched.

There have been very few (any?) phones launched, through today, with zero physical nav buttons.

It doesn't matter to us when these phones went into development. The Nexus launched right after the Razr, and as soon as it did having GB on a phone and not ICS became a real and relevant factor.

I don't know, the plastic only seems flimsy when you remove it. IMO, phone feels pretty solid in hand.

The article makes it seem like it's 100% lock Samsung is going to make the Nexus again. But their source is the Digitimes article which is just rumor.

Maybe Google just loves AMOLED. Samsung controls like 95% of that market. If Google wants the cutting edge AMOLED, Samsung is the only one that can provide that. Samsung doesn't sell their best AMOLED to competitors. They keep that for themselves. They will however sell the previous gen AMOLED to competitors.
