On the follow up I just thought I'd let eveyone know that the snow/artifact issue is gone for me now. I figure it was most likely the Cat 4.9b driver, but regardless, the driver update definitely caused the card to run the game MUCH better. It actually was noticeable... something I don't normally have the ability to detect. 😀

damn, I am not barely 10 minutes in and as soon as I talked to the scientist and the sh!t really hit the fan I was shocked. I can't wait to get further in. This definatly has potential to be the scariest game ever.

I see gamespot gave it an 85% which is equal to the 8.5 out of 10 that I gave it a few days ago. I've been so busy lately that I haven't picked it up in a couple of days. Still in the middle of Alpha Labs

Gamestop's review didn't make any sense and is a little in consistant with other reviews on their site. It was just bashing upon bashing. The editor I guess was one of those who expected too much from the game. After all the negative criticism, he gives it a 8.5 even though the review sounded like it deserved nothing better than a 8. That's the first time I've seen a editor at gamespot rate a game so high just because of graphics.

They gave it the same rating as PainKiller which was pretty sad. Painkiller was like walking through a fun house shooting at crack heads on speed. Over and over and over again. Not to mention the story and plot left you feeling violated of your rights to think in the end.

**Thanks to Cryect for supplying the code I needed for the flashlight hack.**

One last mod before I go to bed. This one give you a ton of stuff so you might want to turn up the difficulty to compensate.

Added flashlight to pistol, machinegun, shotgun and chaingun only. The rest of the weapons do not have flashlights.

I also changed some other variables that other people brought up.

Changes:

Added flashlight to pistol, machinegun, shotgun and chaingun only.

Pistol
--Increased rate of fire from 2.5hz to 3hz
Shotgun
--tighter shot spread, went from 22 diameter to 4 diameter
--forced 1 shotshell reload per reload animation(default is 2, on easy?)
Machinegun
--Increased rate of fire from 10hz to 16hz(feel less weak/sluggish/soft)
Chaingun
--Increased rate of fire from 7hz to 14hz(why was the chaingun so damn slow)
--Increased magazine capacity from 60 to 99. +65%
Plasmagun
--Doubled projectile velocity
--Increased magazine capacity from 50 to 60. +20%

Hey guys, I'm stuck at the waste treatment place. I go out this airlock, and there are a couple arch revenants who I waste, then a crushed monorail tunnel and an airlock door on the other side that I can't open. Any ideas what to do before suffocating?

Its in one of the persons emails, think its the monorail engineer. I did the same damn thing wasted a good 30 mins looking everywhere before I realized that each persons file has not only audio but also emails, I assumed that the emails were specific to me.

Look around for another airlock.

Not sure if it was the same spot but I found another one by climbing up some scrap and following a walkway to a new airlock.

There is a building in that area where the roof colapsed. You have to jump and climb on the boxs and pipes to reach the roof of it to get to the 2nd floor door which is open.

You should be OK with at least 800x600, medium quality, and you might get away with 1024x768. D3 at 800x600 still probably looks better than any game you've ever seen.

Now I am stuck at the end...what I think is the end....Fighting this big baddy with 3 search light things floating around...the soul cube tells me to kill the search lights, and when it says "Use me" i switch to it and let it fly, but it doesnt seem to kill/hurt the thing. I ran around for a good half hour doing the same sequence until i ran out of ammo. anyone have an idea what you are supposed to do?

Did the same damn thing, and btw you're not even close to the end really.

You have to shoot those little flying light things and then the big bad guy thing will "grow" new ones by making a glowing ball of light above his back, shoot this ball of light as much as you can, then repeat a few times and he'll die pretty quickly.

I love it! Got it on Saturday and been playing thw whole weekend. Right now I'm at delta labs 1, tryin to locate reactor control room and resotre the power. Initialy I chose high quality setting and IQ was pretty bad. Then I chose medium quality and the IQ is awesome. ID did it again. Haven't played multiplayer yet. Plan to go thru the whole thing then get online.
