I think it would be cool if on maps where one side launches from a ship, have that ship moving. Circling the island or something. Could really change things up if one teams spawn is always moving.

I hope they increase the server size. Why keep the now old 64 players maximum? Let's have 80 or so for the biggest maps.

I'm curious to see what they do for player counts on the PS4. It probably can handle 64 players now, though I wonder if they would go up that high.

RAM was always cited as the reasoning for player limits on the consoles. I would agree that 64 players should be doable going forward, but you wonder if they will.

I would hope they really push the map size and player counts. MAG on the ps3 had 256 players (didn't run that great.) I hope they go for 128 players, on much bigger maps.

Honestly even 64 players is too many for a lot of maps, I'd never even touch a 128/256 just because it become such an un-fun spamfest to me. I much prefer something in the range of 24-48.

Knifing was awesome in BC2! It was much faster, and more effective. Plus, that animation was awesome. You might not be able to hear people because of all the gun fire and explosions.

I would gladly take something in between those two. The BC2 is way too quick and clearly a bit overpowered (just based on that video), while the BF3 is much too drawn out and needs to be able to work in succession when you've got the time to deal with a couple people...

That's mostly due to the small size of the maps. BF2 had no issues running 64 man games with the larger maps. BF3 with high player counts in feels like you spawn in someones crosshairs most of the time.

Same. I usually avoid full 64 player servers like the plague. Larger maps would probably help but for 128 players the maps would really have to be ginormous and have tons of vehicles.

I was talking with my brother earlier, and thought of a cool idea for BF4, though they almost certainly will just make it just like more BF2/BF3 style.

We thought it would be cool to see the first major FPS war title that truly had a variety of eras to play in. WW1 (horses! maxim guns! gas!), WW2, Korea/Vietnam, Modern. It could open up some awesome and hilarious game modes. You could have mixed mode maps where you could get achievements by getting kills with really antiquated weaponry. Seeing a P51 trying to shoot an Apache down would also be utterly epic. Personally I'm tired of the modern warfare style shooters at the moment, we've had a big rush of them similar to the WW2 glut of the early 00s. As a matter of fact, it's probably time to go back and do WW2 with the new horsepower of the current engines and gpus. After seeing the aftermath maps, I think the rubble/grit of destroyed European cities could be really intense to fight in.

/all dreams though. I have full expectations that BF4 will be indistinguishable from BF3, though it's possible they could try to further consolize it with CoD dumbassery. I want my BAR, I want to drive a Tiger, I want to fly a Zero, I want to try out a STG-44, etc. And the best thing : no freaking heli or jet spam, lol.

id like to see active weather. maps where its snowing and raining + thunder and lightning,
snow would muffle all sounds of bullets and explosions but you could hear crunchy footsteps, rain the splish splash but you should have to deal with the constant sound of the rain high wind should be noticeable when flying helis and jets, snow/ice/rain should be noticeable on traction in basically everything besides a tank
day night versions of the same maps, TBH IMO Maps like Caspian would be amazing when set at night

I'm a little late to the party but finally picked up BF3 on the PC as my free game for the SimCity debacle. Also picked up premium while it was on sale. I played a bit on the 360 but that's been quite a while ago.

Do AT players have a favorite server? I see the one in the OP but wasn't sure how up-to-date that is. I rarely, if ever, finish positive on K/D ratio but I make up for it with teamwork, if anybody ever wants to play. My Origin tag is blurredvision81.
