Is origin broken these days when it comes to downloading?Have to reinstall BF3 and the 20gb file in all its glory apparently is capped at a whopping 118kbps,the download sat at 83-88kbps for nearly 3 hours and there is 48 hours and 38 mins remaining.:|

I hadn't run into any problems downloading End Game or the most recent ME3 DLC, no. I actually wish Origin [and Steam for that matter] would implement a bandwidth throttle; huge pain in the ass having them saturate my connection for hours on end.

I am kind of disappointed they are releasing a new BF so soon, but will hold judgement until it is released.

I think I am going to get back into BF3 soon though. My last remaining 5870 died recently though. =( I should just bite the bullet and buy a new card.

BF3 will be 2 yrs old this Fall when it is expected that BF4 will be released. 2 years is long enough ;)

BF2 was in 2005. And if the best they can come up with in that amount of time was BF3, it doesn't bode well for BF4. We will see though. I am withholding judgement until I see it. The trailer looks like a BF3.5 so far.

Eh. They could have waited longer and pumped out more dlc. High end cards still struggle with then game at high resolution and they still haven't fixed some bad bugs.....

I've never played BF3 single player, just saw the footage before the game launched and read about it in reviews. The BF4 single player looks a little more open. Also looks like you can direct squad mates. Kinda reminds me of BC2 more than BF3. The squad mates seem to have personality.

I thought BF3's single player was pretty decent, other than the few consoley mash the right button in sequence parts, I hate that crap.

I haven't played the single player of a BF game. I started BC2's but only made it like 30 minutes in. The last CoD single player I played was CoD2.

Just got back into BF3 yesterday and was wondering what BF premium did and if it was worth whatever the cost it (which I have no idea of).

It added about 5 map packs full of great maps and vehicles and weapons. However, it segmented the community drastically and made many servers "THis map pack only."

Lamest crap ever. You can't find a stock server running every map in it's rotation. They need to fix this garbage in BF4.

It is worth getting it then this late in the game's lifecycle? I only have BtK because of the deluxe edition I bought and there are not a lot of low ping servers. At least, hardcore server. Which is strange because I live in Chicagoland and there is usually tons of servers.

I think so, especially at the sale prices they had recently. Its still a very vibrant community. You'll get your money's worth if you play through the summer before bf4 comes out.

I think premium gives you extra life as well. Every time I have a close firefight with someone, and I hit them like 4 times and still die to them, it is a premium player.

Hey folks-
With Termie's help, and others, I was able to finally get my PC upgraded after 5 years, just to play BF3. I now have the system in my sig.
BF3 is running now on all "Ultra" settings, but the graphical performance is a bit disappointing. What settings should I use with the system in my sig to ensure there are no issues?

Turn off AA. I know 22" 1680x1050 isn't the best PPI in the world, but you'll get better settings doing ultra on custom and simply disabling AA.

Agreed. Turn off the MSAA, but leave on the Post-Process AA: "High FXAA" or whatever it's labeled as. Disable the line that probably says "4x MSAA". MSAA is indeed better than the post-process FXAA, but it's imho not world's better and not worth the performance degradation unless you have an absolute beast of a system.

Thanks guys, that and 'locking the monitor rate' appears to have done it!
BTW, I looked at upgrading to Premium for the full local servers, its about $50 via the Origin store here in Japan, and I'm not sure it'll be in English. Is it possible to upgrade cheaper some other way?
