I'm surprised you like these maps as much as Caspian, etc. given how little room tanks have to work with. If you're still going the armor route, you must be as good as you say you are!

The reason why I like Aftermath so much is because the maps actually feel like real places. So many of the maps just feel like flat areas with cut and past buildings dropped onto them at random. These feel like actual cities and as such provide far more options for strategy and flanking.
That's what makes a good map to me. Maps like Caspian, Seine Crossing, Karkand, Sharqi, Metro, and that one city map I can't remember the name of are all good because they feel real to me. They balance the vehicles against the infantry by actually provide infantry the ability to hide.
Maps like Kharg Island, Firestorm, and all of Armored Kill are just garbage. They are wide open spaces with the same buildings placed at random around the map with no thought put into how the game play unfolds. I forgot Wake Island, that one is also horrible.

Probably because I see 20 round magazine and see reloads getting me deaded.
Looking at stats, it still has the added damage that it should thanks to the use of 7.62mm, but I remember much foaming at mouth due to nerfing not too long after release and I never used it after that.
I should start. Never hurts to start a new unlock sequence.
A few CQ rounds should do the trick.
Is this the new go to gun since patch? I've been running the G36C as engineer and the M416 on my medic.

One of these days I'll get around to using it. I cycle through two or three guns until I unlock all attachments, then move on to different ones.
Its always been a beastly gun. It had its big heyday when the M26 underslung shotgun was bugged, it was totally devastating then. I dont think they've changed it any in the latest patch.
Its my fav to use on non-HC servers. Its the only assault rifle that feels like it does any damage on regular servers, the rest take half a mag to kill someone.
I've been using it with the flash suppressor because it lowers vertical recoil. My shots seem to be much more on target vs. the heavy barrel. It was hilarious. I entered this server and started dropping 4 to 5:1 K/D rounds and all the sudden the entire server is using G3A3 lol.
When I left all you heard was that slow and steady sound to the firing. The 20 round magazine is fine because it seems like it kills in 2-3 bullets, and it fires a slow pace. I think you get the same kills per magazine as any other assault gun. One of my friends turned me onto it stating it has the fastest time to kill in the game and I believe him. You find someone's head with it and it's game over. I don't think it shoots bullets in game, just pure rape.

I discovered something fantastically fun to do on that aftermath map "Markaz Monolith". OK, so its like this. Play conquest and leap frog up to the rooftops as a sniper. From there, you can shoot pilots out of those slow, low flying choppers and it is completely badass as well as lay waste to people down below. The only thing is that there is a LOT of pressure up there from counter snipers, which are usually not too much trouble, but its the choppers themselves dropping people off up their to kill you that causes the headache. Anyway, very fun and reminds me of the old MAV riding days!

LOL. I'm telling you man, thats the only map i've been playing lately. Its just too damn much fun. I love it. It feels like a Back to karkand map with a little different style and the best damn sniping of just about any BF map in history. Those chopper pilots cry hacker like crazy, hahaha! "Are you serious? No F---ING way, hacker! BAN MOONBOGG! BAN MOONBOGG!"
Time to find you and counter snipe you.
Gah, it will have to wait, damn work and the winter code crunch.
How is the cross bow? How much is the arc for the bolt?

I'm at work right now, so i'm just waiting to play myself later. I don't have the cross bow as I haven't done whatever I have to in order to get it. I think its an achievement or something.
Using the beacon to hop from rooftop to rooftop is way too much fun. If there isn't too much pressure on you, as a sniper you can really murder the crap out of them. You can see a large percentage of the map and most people are pretty close, which makes for easy prey. They HAD to know how great this map would be for snipers. Its actually like it was designed with sniping in mind.
So thats why I havent seen you around much lately.
I havent used the xbow much because it was driving me insane. Its slow velocity makes it hard for me to hit anything other than a stationary target at range and its slow reload makes it pretty much useless for CQ action. I recently unlocked HE bolts for it but havent tried them yet.
These AM maps are awesome and have become my favorites to play, lots of cover and plenty of action.
Dude, we played last night and I didn't even realize it. For some reason I thought your name is Moondogg, but I saw a guy named MOONBOGG and thought he was a different person. Yeah, you were rocking my buddy (Quadrotor) who was flying. I got shot out of the helicopter a couple of times as well too, but forgot by whom. He thought you were cheating

That actually sounds like a ton of awesome fun. You get a lazer on a rooftop and park the tank in a safe spot, and holy crap you could go on some epic runs like that.
I had a few REALLY tough rounds last night on that map. It was still good fun but our team got destroyed. We made an amazing comeback toward the end but it wasn't enough. Love that damn map.
It was blast!
When I joined the game my team (RU) was down nearly 300 tickets on a 1,000 ticket server, but once we capped C (near the bridge) things began to turn around. Thats when I grabbed a tank and a couple of my squad joined me and we went on a tear. We were able to destroy nearly everything coming from that side of the US spawn and protect A and C, which in turn let the rest of the team cap all but one of the flags. It seemed like the entire opposing team made it their mission to kill us and we were eventually overrun by what felt like a platoon of RPG and JAV toting engineers. LOL I collected a ton of disable and anti vehicle ribbons that round.
Who needs double XP.
