So I think I ran through all the maps...the gameplay is a little too random. Too CODish. I dunno, maybe I should just camp flags or something, cause I'm constantly getting shot in the back. I'm shooting a lot of people in the back as well, but I think I might prefer the "bad guys here, go kill them" style more.

I think this may require a lot more squad work than random pugs. I lets see if we can get a squad or two going later today.

Just find someone to follow and use them as cannon fodder.. that is what I do. :D

But it does require team play to watch each other's back because the rooms have too many entry points.:'(

Like a squad of 4 do a quick room sweep or pooint your guns at different vantage points... and if one of your teamates gets killed you know the bullets are coming from not where you are looking... like those SWAT and Special OPs movies...

And yes I steal other peoples' kills! :p

Probably the case. Running into 3 guys in a hallway is death. I can normally get one or two then get to cover, but in CQ its harder. Probably just need to know the layouts better.

hahaha I tried this, but you end up being the one shot in the back. And if you lead, they got shot in the back and then you do as well. Now, if VOIP was working in game you could do callouts. The best success I've had is just sprinting all out with a SPAS and taking people out. When it works you either meet people head on, or catch their backs. Once I get a feel for the traffic patterns I can do it more consistently. I still dont know where I'm going, except for Scrapmetal.

I find that the top level for most maps at the moment are very quiet and under utilized. Also, stairways seem like a good safe zone to just get the suppression effect off.

not even sure knowing the layout that well will work.

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/#!/bf3/battlereport/show/34256109/1/228549105/

you'll notice my crappy KDR.

they had 2 squads of 3 guys each working together, I could get 2 of them SOMETIMES 3, but usually just one because I couldnt spray enough bullets(though some of that could have been the aug) in time with 3-5 guns on me.

it was much less an issue on kharg and canals as there is much more space and I could get behind them and go on a nice little 3-5kill streak before someone realized I was there

but if I had a decent player backing me on voip(or two, 3 if one of them is SLU as hell end up parachute reconing somewhere :p) severe damage could be dealt

I <3 that server btw, the WDA one(thanks wda_slayer for dragging me there a few weeks ago!) as they were kick banning after warnings for camping on the crane on canals and on the roof on kharg

before the kicks on canal I was punishing them with the smoke glitch

hilariously I pissed 2 of them off to all hell, and one team switched and was following me around hitting me with smoke(I assume to try and knock me down the leaderboard) and one just told me to fuck off when i called him a crane rat

wish I could find a place that would list the longest headshot per round, it wasnt more than 450 because thats what I had before(guess i dont snipe enough :p )

but got 2 of em from the train tracks to the crane with smoke

hehehe one guy was bitching and one of the WDA admins told them to stay off the crane on their server :p

I dont mind the crane on canals MUCH, but I hate when they troll the roof on kharg because of how hard it is to get them off of it

Yeah, on Scrapmetal I partol the roofs and use the center piping to move between them. Just gotta figure out what is where on the other maps.

I think these maps would have been better served with Rush. Like 3 sets of mcoms, and they dont have to be in the same place every time. I think they need some different mode to focus the gameplay a bit.

heh...there was this sniper on top of that huge structure at Dry Dock who got me when I was trying to repair. I switched to my SV98 and took him out like three times. Loser had a 12x scope and was outsniped with an ACOG. Anyways, I was circling around looking for him, and I saw his beacon at the far edge of the roof. I mean come on, the roof is huge, why put it where someone can see it??? So I shot it, and then the dummy sticks his head out with a metaphorical WTF bubble over his head. BOOM! No more roof for you! hahahaha

Ugh, I thought the Back to Karkand maps were annoying as infantry, Conquest Domination for the new maps are catered to nade spam and camping.

Say what you want about the vanilla maps, if you had a camper, you could get in from a different angle. With the B2K and CQ maps they just seem to have one or two camping spots that can't be flanked.

Also, it seems that these maps don't scale very well. 64 players is a nightmare.

But be advised..... I dont always live up to my name. :D

you have one from zargon_ap

Accepted!

Another heads up: Its gonna take me a while to get used to playing on normal. I have a bad habit of letting off the trigger too soon. I have a pretty good sense of how many bullets it takes to kill on hardcore and its ingrained in me to stop shooting to conserve ammo. This of course ends up being an epic fail when switching to normal. I died several times like that playing Gun Master this morning. :(

I had that problem ALOT in BC2 where I played HC more than regular.

I feel so naked in hardcore, so hard to see everyone....stupid sunflare needs toned down a ton more.

Yeah BC2 I preferred HC.
But BF3 - I still can't seem to notice the uniforms and the differences in them - most likely due to the lighting engine like you stated. Not so much the glare in my opinion, but it is vastly more difficult trying to rapidly identify.
And even in BC2, while I could do it a lot on my own, I still would Spot and even without spot identifiers, you got the verbal cue for either friend or foe.
But if I rely on that, and they are real close, it's too late most often. :p

Anyone can add me too, if they haven't already - roadkill_626

Also if you see me on Battlelog message me if you need me to help complete your assignments.

I mainly use Assault and Support depending on what type of players are on a map. I will use Support if I see alot of grouping up or to help control a choke points for my teamates to advance...

Be Advised! I do live up to my name, running over other players without regards to my KDR! :D

Yes, those that play with you know! I see you jump down the escalators I always think for a split sec: if I follow it'll be an epic run or a horrible death. Maybe I'll check my score really quick before I make the decision.

Picked up the Premium pack last night for 1499 rupees (~$30 USD). So far I'm loving all of the close quarter maps much more than the massive maps. Must be the CoD fan in me speaking haha.

Rupees? So it would have been 40% cheaper if I bought this in India? And yeah, its basically COD without killstreaks.

These CQ's maps are not quite as CQ as I thought they would be. These are rather large little maps.

I was totally lost when spawning in the Ziba Tower, every room looks pretty much the same. I just ran towards the noise and skull markers on the mini map. LOL

Yeah I saw that on Slickdeals, you had to use a proxy web address and buy the game as if you were from India. Seems a little shady, but if it works it saves you a few bucks. :sneaky:

Yeah, its small because of all the hallways and corridors, but big at the same time because of all the hallways and corridors and everything looks the same. Its easy to get lost. There are also these strange dead areas, where it looks like you should be able to get to a back wall, but then there is crap in the way so you can't get there. Or maybe you can if you find an opening. Maybe tonight I'll hop on an empty server and just look around.

yeah that 100%. even with the little triangles in close knit TDM matches I will lite up teammates

worked for about a day in brasil as well

yeah I was commenting on that before it launched, that the vid snippets from ziba and donya made them look like the big TDM maps instead of say....metro subway

I don't know if this has been answered; I tried looking and didn't find anything. If I've already got Back to Karkand, there's no discount on Premium, right? So instead of saving ~$75, I'm looking at saving $10. On content that won't finish being released for another 9 months? Given that most everyone who was a fan of BF3 already has Back to Karkand, isn't this pretty much the case for everyone in the target market for the Premium pack? Doesn't that strike anyone else as kind of a dick move?
