Anyone else getting frequent crashes while flying planes?

Oh and I mean crashes to desktop not the ones that involve me sucking at flying.

I had 2 crashes not even flying...and I crashed once in Co-Op mode... I'm trying to get the MP7 - I loved that gun in MOH
I had 5 hard crashes tonight, but none while flying.

EDIT: 6 crashes.

EDIT: *sigh* make that 7.

Were you dropping med kits in one round and didn't stop?

I was always the guy using the Scout and picking off the people using the AWP. I don't think that there should be any sniper rifles that should be "one shot kills"... where is the challenge?

I forgot about the scout - those were fun times...

I'd love for future DLCs to have some dusk or dawn maps. For several reasons, I think it'd be something different than all the maps we've seen in Battlefield. For one, I'm tired of bright mid day maps, it'd be nice to bring in a new color palette for a change with some nice sunsets/sunrises.

Is there anywhere I can go to so I can suggest this to the developers, DICE seems to be hung up on high noon bright as hell maps.

battlelog is the best place, or twitter I suppose

it is weird we have what, one night map?

Anyone else notice how scared players are in this game? Very few are comfortable rushing anywhere without 30 other team members.

Also, I hate people that pause at the easy to grab flags.

yah esp when lots of the maps the winning team is determined who gets to the center flag first.

Maybe. I have about 1000 kills with 1 weapon, with 14 hours of use. So multiply to get to 50 hours and times 2.3 KDR and its in the ballpark. His accuracy with most weapons is around 25%, mine is half that, which is reasonable as I know I leave a lot of kills on the table. His headshot percentage is around 33%. Mine is around 20%. So more kills for the same % of bullets fired. That probably makes up the difference. And since his KD is low (compared to vehicle users), he probably plays infantry only or lots of Metro. I played a 24/7 Metro server last night, and averaged 27/10 over 4 games. Destiny was doing even better. In the past I have gotten even higher scores. In fact I bailed because it felt like a bad night. I'm alright, but there are at least 5 Aters I can think of off the top of my head that are better. Or, I should say, have better numbers. Anyways, there are ways to KD whore. His quit % is almost 20%, so he could be selecting his competition.

Now, if his headshot %, KPM and KDR was higher it would be suspicious, but it seems reasonable. The AEK-971 was a monster. With the machine guns for example, very low accuracy, but high KPM. You can only do that on Metro, and maybe Bazaar. Aimbotters would have better numbers. Unless he aimbots part time, and sucks so bad without it that it brings his numbers down to mask the aimbotting. But thats like Lex Luthor stuff...

EDIT: And look at his battle reports. Pretty much all Metro, with a Seine and Bazaar thrown in. And it looks like he's a live streamer. Dude is just good.

I agree that 25% accuracy and 3 kills per minute / 1000 score per minute are possible in the short term, but what I find implausible is that someone could keep that up and would want to play e.g. Metro 64 for 120 hours straight. :|

I know right, I was playing the co-op mission where you have to provide sniper support in France. I love the colors in that map, where it looks almost dark but not completely. If DICE could do some actual maps like that, maybe a bit brighter with nice golden hues of the evenings, I will probably be more occupied with running around oogling at the prettiness than killing people! I actually did that when I first got BF3--running around Caspian Border admiring the scenery and dodging bullets. What a pretty game 🙂

If metro 2 words

grenade,m320

Think people feel safe around many others on that map lol .

One of the hidden ways you can get an idea of players after they have an absolute ton of hours in is the 'skill' rating. It starts to solidify a bit, and I do find that a LOT of noobs (read; rollover from CoD) love to play the infantry-only maps like Metro. You can get a crapton of kills if you're really good at exploiting the choke points, although more of your kills will be against n00bs or overly brave/unlucky decent players.

As much as it pains me to admit it, I think most of the super elite BF3 players tend to be pilots. I've easily seen 10x the skill on the big caspian/firestorm/kharg maps than in Metro. There's just a lot more strategy and paths to flank/outflank/etc on there, along with the obvious additional complexities of dealing with vehicles and destructible structures.

Not to say the guy is bad or anything, but killing 2:1 on Metro spam maps doesn't impress me too much. Shoot early, shoot often, and in a 64-player map you'll hit lots of stuff.

It seems like it would be easy to recompile each of the maps to say about 6 different times of day/night, and have the server roll the time each time the map is played. Imho that would be awesome.

I can't remember who said to bind pitch up to spacebar for flying jets, but THANK YOU.

I'm still struggling to get the hang of the new keys, but I can finally fly the jets with mouse/keyboard. Haven't gotten to practice much with dogfighting yet, but I am super accurate against ground targets now. Way better than the 360 controller I was using.

Yeah, and then I got banned! Just one of those nights. I went all week, and about 20 hours without crashing, then last night just one crash after another.

I used to love the scout on railroad.

Well, there are ATers on my battlelog list that play 24/7 Metro a lot. For awhile I was playing nothing but Bazaar, infantry only, cause I was sick of vehicles. Especially when I'm playing solo, because teamwork is so bad that playing a big conquest map with vehicles turns into a one sided cluster f***. But playing all Metro servers is like TDM, without spawning in front of someones gun.

One of the cool patch additions in Burnout Paradise was a dynamic day/night cycle. You could either set the time, or have it cycle all the modes in like X number of minutes. Another reason why I dont like the bigger conquest maps is because it seems like the sun is always in your eyes.

Agreed, it'd be refreshing to have a just before dawn or just after sunset map, where you can see where the sun just set, and things are still relatively visible. The night map in Tehran is a bit excessively dark, though I still have fun seeing it after all of the day-glo maps.

Or have the rain that's on that's on Bazaar come into Caspian or Kharg sometime, that'd be cool. It's not gonna happen, but it'd be funny if they remapped the ground into slog that slowed down vehicles and made everyone muddy and hard to see.

seriously, I've only played metro a handful of times, but I got 18000 points in one round. Absurd.

Does not take much skill to play this map either.

Stand around hand out ammo and med kits...revive and fire m320 and toss grenades it seems just about everyone does this lol.

My best round i got 2 resupply medals 75 resupply ribbons handful of kills and a ton of kill assist bonus points i was one of the few support guys on the team:awe:

Personally, sometimes when I come home from work, I don't want to do much besides spamming grenades down corridor, it can be quite therapeutic. While all the complaints about Metro are valid, keep in mind that's how the map was probably designed. Just all out spamfest. I keep a couple of 24/7 metro maps on my favorites so I can go de-stress once in a while.

Same here...
and yes I am one of those guys that rush every where without 30 other team memebers - I just need 1 or two other team members with one of us making it pass the choke points to the last flag.... Last night on Metro I was personally responsible for grabbing the closest flags to the opposing team spawn on two occassions - at the beginning of the map I would just rush past the middle flag and head straight to the last flag... in one round we were USA and I grabbed Flag A at the very beginning of the map - and the opposing team spent the next 1400 tickets getting spawned killed...I then took the opportunity to exploit the mortor glitch and I was chatting with the opposing team who were complaining... I told them their problem is that they were too scared or just happy with noob tubing not caring about rushing... they started complaining about me exploiting the mortor glitch, and I told them do you want me to mortor or snipe you and kill you in your spawn because 90% of their 32 player team were too scared to comeout of their own spawn? = I said take your pick... I ended up getting 40k points on that map...

I have to admit - the opposing team took it and only a few rage quit....

That is how I rank up fast too to get my medals... but I rather grab all flags and spawn kill the team:biggrin:

Damn, I didn't know Chuck Norris played BF3. Check it out.

Sorry, paq beat ya to it. 😛

Anyways, this reminds me of when I used to play CTF in Desert Combat, if you angled your plane just right, you could cap the flag and hop back in and be on your merry way. Here is a little video of it...

Hard to do, but felt great when you got it...

I killed this one guy several times and he started calling me a no-skill noob, which I thought was funny. After the round, I looked up his battlelog, and holy hell. Is this even possible without cheating?

I checked out his livestream, he's 100% legit. 24/7 Metro Conquest 700 ticket server is why his score/min is so high. His gameplay style is like the Energizer bunny. He never stops moving or pauses for even a second. Rush the enemy, kill your way around the side of the engagement and then clean up with some easy kills where they don't see you. He's constantly dying, except that he'll also frequently pull a 7 or 8 killstreak and that keeps his KD nice and high. The matches I saw he scored the following - 77k/35d and 91k/34d. It's worth noting he had the most deaths on the server both games, and he doesn't play the objective at all. His team lost one of the matches too...

That 91k match, he had more kills than the next top three players on each team combined though. He's really, really good at picking up targets to shoot at, that's the only thing unique I noticed about his playstyle. Metro is such a formulaic map though, you know where the enemy is holding up and a good player can exploit that.

But yeah, bottom line is - 100% legit. Probably has ADHD too...

LOL at him having ADHD

I have ADHD being truthful here and it doesn't always empower you to be very good at these games, you might fire at one enemy and someones over to the left killing you lol cause you didn't pay attention true story here.

Now ocd is maybe more of what this guy has, just compulsive on being a hard ass try hard perhaps but not adhd:thumbsup:

Only fps i am good at is BC2 but i have played about 4x as much of it but i am about burnt out on fps games

I consider myself to be a very above average FPS player, and I don't believe I have ADHD or OCD. Not sure I see the correlation here at all?

Of course maybe I just haven't been diagnosed with either which would explain a lot. lol.
