But trying them out on ps3 only made me more anxious for it to get to pc. Sounds like they are good. I been constantly hearing Battlefield 3 is so much better on the PC compared to the xbox 360 and PS3. Glad to see this.

Now for the record breaking BF3 players online! Can't wait!

hahaha I squaded with you yesterday and I dont think you left the LAV once. Well, I think it was blown up once or twice, but I dont think you left it. Just went in circles on Bazaar. :biggrin:

BTK is free if you have the limited edition, which 90% of preorders were

DICE says they will look into VOIP being in game more

Hahaha yeah I feel it's my duty usually to drive the LAV on Bazaar, it works really well if you keep hauling ass and not get too bogged down trying to cap a flag. The highway one and checkpoint or whatever aren't so bad, but the other two, Market and whatever can be death traps. The best use of it seems to be super mobile mode, and to chase down/kill enemy LAV lots and lots 🙂 I always feel dumb when I stop or get bogged down for a minute and end up with 200 guys shooting RPGs at me.

I TRIED to use it in BC2 but it was always broke...or appeared to not work...

At least in BF2 even if you didn't use it you could hear others in your squad...which was helpful.

The current solutions presented to me seem stupid...no one should ever have to alt+tab out of a game to add someone into a voip chat...

I alt+tab out of my games all the time for lesser things. Surfing the web, watching a news video, and even installing software.

Alt-Tab is not that big of a deal. I don't get what the problem is.

I am not making the comment on the degree of difficulty regarding the function of Alt+Tab...

IMO I find it stupid that if I wanted to add someone to the in game chat process I need to (from what I have read, have there username) and then add it into the battlelog???

And on top of that it sounded like there is another setting that you then have to enable for it to function correctly?

If you are going to force someone to use the in game program to manually add someone to your battle log...then at least automate it somehow in the menu...

I could be totally way off base here...I haven't played the game in a month for various reasons...VoIP being a main one.

Ok that is perfectly understandable.

Hopefully DICE adds VOIP then. Even if hardly anyone ever uses it.

And that may be the case...hell I don't know I might be the only guy that wants the VoIP in game vs. having some third party client...

My biggest disadvantage is hate having to use some third party tool...that is essentially disconnected from the actual game...it is just a big party line...

The few times I have used Ventrillo it was stupid because you would have a clan / group of close buddies that would run together...

Then when one would get team switched it negated the whole VoIP part because now that person would know where you were and what you are talking...so it resorted to typing in team chat (stupid).

Add that the fact that I could be on 1 squad and them in another...wtf point does that give...

I really really really wanted to get it for PC, but didn't have the coin to drop on a new rig capable of actually playing it. But now, after realizing how much is left out on the console versions, it makes me really sad and I'm trying to talk myself out of upgrading.
 
What's everyone's longest headshot distance? I pulled a 496m headshot on Canals with the SV98 in the first week of the game's release but haven't had anything even close to that since. I don't snipe often, but do enjoy going for those long shots when I do.

Looking at my leaderboard, my longest is 592.62m. paqster has me beat though, he has 737.16m. 😱

Not bad though, second highest of my AT friends... And I'm not much for long distance sniping.
 
362m with the AEK-971. I saw a orange triangle on the carrier on Canals, and I took some pot shots and I got a head shot. Whats funny is I have more than twice the number of kills with the SV98, but with it I only shoot when I see the whites of their eyes. :biggrin: I doubt I'll ever beat that distance.

Hahah I know what you mean, all I play is engineer, and my longest is 453m. It's hard because the eng guns suck. The SCAR-H in real life will mow someone down at 600m+, but in the game it's a joke. I use it anyway though, as all the eng guns are weak. If they modeled 7.62m FMJ ammo correctly, it'd be much more satisfying. They even make a SCAR-H sniper variant, just a barrel swap and a scope, and bam, 1000m range.

Bah.
 
longest headshot = 775 meters

even a broken clock is right twice a day 😛 i have no idea what weapon i hit with. maybe a tank for all i know. i hate sniping, and snipers.
