I can't even connect now after the patch. The little status screen on battlelog says that I'm connected to server, but it just loads the map forever. Anyone else having this problem?

We were dominating a metro last night untill 2 mav dudes joined in and totally turned the game against us, went from a 2 cap to win to a 3 cap with us being spawn trapped, both dudes had 1500+ mav kills, and would run you over even if you were running around like a chicken with no head on crack, and if you actually managed to dodge the damn thing someone would just shoot you.. made defending impossiable. its the most broken thing ive seen in a long time, IMO its worse then auto shotties with expl shells ever thought of being

the FAMAS is a really fun gun however it starts with a 12x scope :/ which is usless and its irons suck, but once you unlock the reddot its nice

conquest assault is interesting to say the least, its can be very chaotic at times but its really fun.

i would have gotten it on the PC but i only know 1 person IRL who has a PC powerful enough to play any game more advanced then farmville and he lives 3 timezones away so playing with him is hard

This is what I get 90% of the time:

1st try to connect: I get the BF3.exe has stopped working error. Close dialog, try to connect again.
2nd try to connect: I get the Battelog can't connect to server error. Close dialog, try to connect again.
3rd try to connect: I get the Battlelog You've been disconnected from EA error message, close dialog, try to connect again
4th try to connect: it works.

Post patch I was able to join every server in one try. No more failing three times before joining! GGS.

It's minor but anyone having the issue of the game taking a while to close down when you quit the game since the latest patch? Mine used to be instant but now I have to wait a bit.

There were still a good number of people using IRNV in Caspian yesterday. There was also one guy that was pissing me off with his MP5. It seemed like he only had to fire a bullet and kill me. He killed me like 5 times and even if I snuck up on him and fired first I still died with one shot. Still can't stand a chance against someone using USAS-12 w/frag rounds.

Finally! Just tested it and re-binding the mouse-wheel does in fact work. God that was driving me insane.

I don't understand the hate for Sharqi. Easily my favorite of those four BF2 maps. Just the right mix of vehicles vs. infantry (and no jets). Battles for the TV station were epic.

Agreed, though I can see where people are coming from. If the teams are really unbalanced, it is a nightmare map.

For the MAVs, if you see one plotting to mow you down, just hit prone and they will just go right on by or hit the ground. I've had many experiences where the MAV driver would try to kill me but was never able to as I was in the prone position. Though, it could be that in the prone position makes the kill shot a lot harder to hit.

guess we won't be watching the map from the spawn screen as our sole surviving teammate's icon tries to cap a flag as the ticket count goes down...epic when he did, I tell you.

And really hard on the ol ticker if you were the remaining teammate trying to cap the flag.

That is very good news. It was getting very irritating to have to try 2 and 3 times to join a server

Frag rounds definitely seem Op compared to the ones in BC2. Almost like using a carlos gustav.

I haven't played this game in what feels like a month...I lost interest quickly after not having VoIP in the game and getting my ass handed to me by people who have 8 hours + of time to play each day already being generals x3 @ level 70 while crow eater leeland is sitting at level 10 with base weapons


Has ANYTHING improved on this game in the last month? I haven't followed ANY news on the game...Are there any plans for in game VoIP?

If not I doubt I will reinstall this game once I get my SSD installed...

Pisses me off because I had so much fun with BF2 and this game has a lot of promise...

This, I can't echo this more. Group up with the AT guys and you will have fun. The only annoying part is that the group channel only supports up to 8 people. On that note, please exit the group if you are going offline, I always try getting into the group but it says it is full.

Also, most of the high ranked people right out of the gate were banned/reset for cheating/stat padding. With the latest patch, it is a lot easier as most people are really bad at iron/scopes due to the IR scope crutch.

I really hated the IRNV scope thank the lord it was nerfed...perhaps some people can stop camping with it and man up and fight like men....nothing i hated more then being killed by some invisible camper more then likely using it.

I used it a few times cause i got lucky finding a kit laying on the floor with it...way to overpowered it mind as well be a aimbot no one is safe if your using it.

I feel the same way. Im hoping the new maps will make things more interesting.

I tend to only use snipers in hardcore, much easier to get kills. Or take the scope off and run around, that's fun too...

haha, that's what I did to unlock the SV98. I'm still not a good sniper though.

take off the scope and play with ironsights as assault rifles

the svd and mk11 are amazing with pretty much guaranteed 2 shot kills and 1 shot headshots

How do you stat pad with it? Suppression assists on 64 player metro?

I don't see this being a a very valid argument against people using the IR scope because one can very well counter campers by using the scope to sniff them out.

Saying it's like an aimbot is a bit overdramatic don't you think? The thing that I think made it really imbalance was that it let you see people across the map, which in itself let you spot them out for your team. They fixed that in the latest patch, a bit too much in my opinion by severely limiting the drop off distance as well the delay on the heat signatures showing up after you go into scope mode.

I gotta say this patch has really improved the game on big maps like Caspian, Firestorm, and Kharg. By boosting damage of guided weaponry, DICE has rewarded good team play and made the recon class a little more respectable.
