Can you blow up the tower in caspian borders? I logged into a server and the tower was on the ground sideways and blocking pathing.

It happens in the last few tickets of the round. You cannot trigger it.

Because you were suppressing a team of guys as it fell on them...

...Right? :D
Of course! Surely you didnt think I was foolish enough to to get caught running under a giant slow falling antenna.

FYI: It will also kill you even if you are inside a tank........dont ask. :whiste:

Last few games Ive played have been weird, like the hit detection is off or something. Ill have peeps dead to rights in my sights and no hits. Ive been killed while so many times lately while out of the line of sight of my killer its sickening. At least to me it appears like Ive already gone around the corner or ducked behind cover and then I die (usually sniped) 1-2 seconds later while Ive already started the reload process. Also it seems that high 250-350 pingers are at top of the scoreboard when I play against them. Odd because I cant play for shit after my ping goes over 150. ARRGH! It makes me want to rage quit.

simple question:

Will BF3 ever be on steam? Im trying to not use origin anymore at all, and ill be completely rid of it after BF3. Any exclusives after that ill just pass on. Too bad because i really like bf3 multiplayer - prob my fav mp on the pc right now.

I have like 200+ games on steam, and i like the idea of just having everything in one place. I have like 5 games on origin, and besides BF3, i just ended up buying them in steam since they were so cheap during this sale. Ive actually re-purchased games i already own in steam just to have them all there. No physical media to worry about, and i can redownload whenever.

More than anything though, i just hate the idea of "origin exclusive". I hate the dickhead from EA that was saying steam sales are bad. I hated the idea of it with BF3, and was against it, but i bought it anyway.

I need to start letting my wallet do the talking and not buying something when im against it.

I guess, but valve does steam exclusive stuff(all of their stuff?)

so you are generally just hating origin because steam came first?

dont get me wrong, I have over 150 steam games, and the steam calc value makes me pucker a bit

but I cant blame companies for just not falling into line to do business with a rival(Valve does occasionally make games)

Been getting a little bored in BF3 lately so Ive taken up using the M320 Buck to work towards its Master tag. Its devastatingly fun at close range but its slow reload will keep you on your toes. You also need a thick skin......for all of the names that are hurled at you. :D

Ive also sold my GTX480 so now Im playing on my old trusty GTX285 until I can get a GTX670 to replace it. Its back to DX10 and low settings for the time being.

Yup, I think it will be slow going until the week or two before Armoured Kill. Then I can see the mad rush to the flag cap, just like how people rushed to the UAC station in BC2.

1080p low?If so not bad for a card you can find second hand often for $60-$80

Yeah, it handles my 1900x1200 monitor just fine on low with nice smooth frame rates. Of course there is less dazzling eye candy when using a DX10 card so that probably helps it out. With the GTX480 things were definitely prettier using ultra settings.

Once you enable high or ultra settings, the requirements jump big time for 1080p.

A 5 year old 8800gts for me was capable of 1440x900 medium smooth gameplay but a single gtx670 on high with 2x msaa can maintain 60fps all day long at both 1680x1050 and 1080p,but enable ultra just that single jump in settings and the frames could tank as low as 40 at times at even 1680x1050.

another thing i just noticed is dont underestimate your cpu in this game. My OC dissappeared when i had to reset the bios the other day, and my q6600 @ 2.4ghz made the game almost unplayable at times (with a 560ti). I bumped it back up to 3.15ghz and its very smooth right now on high settings and 1080p. (around 60+fps)

Absolutely!

Last year I played the beta on a Q6600 machine with the same GTX285 Im using now and it struggled mightily to stay above 40fps even at med-low settings. Thats when I decided to build a new machine using an i5 2500k (OC'd to 4.4ghz) just before BF3's release.

I hope to get that new GTX670 in a couple of weeks so I can crank the settings back up again. :awe:

Battlefieldo - New 'Aftermath' Expansion Details

Discussion in 'News & Updates' started by PR0TENTIAL, 23 minutes ago.
aftermath-feature-xlg-jpg.1300

The fourth expansion to the Battlefield 3 world has been tightly guarded, until now. EA has recently updated the landing page for Aftermath with some new concept art and some details that have been previously kept tight lipped.

Set amongst the shattered districts, streets and surrounding villages of a post-earthquake Tehran, Battlefield 3: Aftermath depicts a continuing struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation.

With operational capacity severely compromised the opposing forces must adapt and engage in vertical and horizontal urban combat amongst the dust and rubble with cracks and fissures in the terrain providing unexpected cover and paths to objectives. Additional support comes in the form of heavily modified troop transports and civilian vehicles specially adapted to deliver deadly force to the enemy.

KEY FEATURES INCLUDE:
  • Urban warfare on four new maps
  • New game mode
  • New assignments, achievements/trophies and dog tags
  • New heavily modified military and civilian vehicles - ingenuity and firepower combined
  • Fight through the dust and rubble, use the earthquake damaged terrain to your tactical advantage
A release date for this expansion is still to be determined. Leave your first impressions on this Aftermath news below!
