Even playing in Tugboat, I still didn't see much squad play. SLs need to mark objectives, for the extra points. I also don't like how you can't start a squad.

Yea, the whole "need two people to start a squad" thing is confusing.

I played a lot (terrible k/d, decent points), but couldn't figure out how to enable chat.

J=Send message to All
K=Send message to Team
L=Send message to Squad

Can they do that in this game? Like bring up the map and select waypoints or something? I thought you could do someting similar in BF2.

Not yet. So far all you can do is aim at a flag marker and Q it to issue an attack or defend order. Way points may come later.

Do you know if there's any way yet to bring up the chat window without actually saying something? That window goes away rather quickly.

I am curious about this to, sometimes I miss something and have to wait on it to appear again.

Oh, that. I thought y'all meant voice. Still haven't gotten voice.

That's kind of complicated. I know zh1nt0 posted some kind of article on the voip support offered by Battlelog today, but I haven't read it yet to judge how helpful it may be. The party system supports up to 8 people in a voice channel. You can either join a party your friends are in or create your own party and invite friends in to it. There is a microphone icon in the lower right corner of Battlelog to turn on or off your microphone while in the party.

On the other hand, I think Jschmuck2 is looking in to getting a TeamSpeak, Vent, or Mumble server to go along with the tugboat, which would be simpler and support more people.

I haven't figured that one out yet.

Cool - I'll read up on both that and the G9x and go with one of them.

I had the Logi MX518 but it was getting old. Switched to the logi G500 but didn't really like it. Got the deathadder 3500 not too long ago and really like it.

Every time I launch BF3 from Battlelog, I'm prompted to enter my admin password (UAC prompt). I run as a non-elevated user, so I found every executable I could, in the origin, battlelog, and battlefield directories, and set them to run as admin, but I'm still prompted at every game launch. It's very annoying.

I'm tempted to reinstall everything in my user directory, but that seems silly. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to fix this without running as admin?

I actually like my Razer Naga MMO for this game, very handy. Use buttons on side, and use sensitivity buttons mapped for tanks/heli/infantry.

Also, the vehicle with the Gatling gun on top, forget name, USE THAT if you want to rank up fast. I kid you not, its the Jack of all trades thing in game, it takes out tanks faster than RPGs, you can actually go around tanks so they can't even hit you yet still hit them non-stop.

The best part is you can tear up infantray/heli, even planes with it with ease.

I got time to play for 30min, went 20-0 with just that :D Not sure if its bugged or what, but when i can take out 4 tanks before i have to leave with that seems pretty OP :D

Quick question:

How do you replenish your ammo? When I'm an engineer I'm out of rockets really quickly. Do I then have to somehow track down a support guy and get him to somehow drop his ammo bag for me (most support guys seem oblivious and only drop ammo when they want to).

And I never got why my heat seeker missiles will only launch at aerial targets. I can't use it for land targets?

I thought you had to do exactly what you said, track down a support guy and beg for ammo, but I sat next to an ammo crate for a minute last night and it gave me bullets, but no rockets. Maybe the support guys need to unlock a better ammo crate?

That's it, yes.

You have to choose... Though if you're boss or the pilot is dozing, you can tag a chopper with a RPG. Most fun thing ever.

how do you remove dog tags from a kill?
Happens automatically for knife kills. That's the only way.

Its so annoying having shitty pilots hog the jets. Im actually getting much better with them.

At first I was using the stealth upgrade but the proximity mini map is too amazing to give up. Gives the direction and position of all other vehicles near by. I took out multiple jets just because I could see which way they were turning.

Rocket pods are pretty weak so heat seeking missiles are still better for now.

Flares are given, cant give those up at all.

Im trying to think if getting a joystick would really help. I feel like m/kb is working pretty well for me right now. Although i cant fly choppers for shit.

I was practicing flying in BF2 for the last week or so. I thought I had it figured out, so yesterday I hopped into a chopper and proceeded to flip over and crash. Controls are inverted, but the menu for flight controls says normal. :rolleyes:
