Because the release date is the 25th and midnight is the first time it's technically the 25th. People would be angry if they released at noon at which point half the release date is wasted.

I was not a fan of beta unfortunately. I'm gonna wait on this release. I'll pick up the game maybe a few months down the line if the game pans out to be what I loved in BF2.

So d0n7bl1nk posted a video on pixelenemy with instructions for activating via a proxy.

How to unlock Battlefield 3 early on the PC:
1. Search Windows for "proxy"
2. Click "configure proxy server"
3. Click "LAN settings"
4. Check "use a proxy server for LAN"
5. Input this IP: 203.232.208.116
6. Input this port: 8080
7. Run the release date check by launching Battlefield 3 on Origin
8. If the release date check fails, click "retry"
9. Once it succeeds, disable the proxy
10. Enjoy playing Battlefield 3!

I caved and gave it a try, and it activated fine.

EDIT: Oh, my bad. When you guys were referring to a VPN you were talking about using a proxy.

Reviews are looking great. However, the fact that some of the reviews start off by mentioning and reviewing the single player mode doesn't say much about the reviewers.

This is a multiplayer game, I would have thought they would spend most of their review efforts focusing on that, then maybe a snip-it at the end that mentions the single player mode.

Ok cya in a few hours. So far it is great fun. A lot of BF fans should really like it.

The 64 slot servers are insanely fun!

Unfortunately not. That email gave my hopes up. Also, I'm not going to do the VPN thing as I'm on my corp network now. Though I have been playing the full game.

For the gametrailers review, I'm the guy at ~4:10 in killing Dinfire (noscope_EAC), we won that round by some nicely placed claymores around Site A.
