Stocks naturally want to go up in a bull market, even one thats already 10 years old. These days its somewhat rare to have a flat day of trading.

If the market has a choice, it chooses to go up.

All that being said, unless earnings start off particularly bad next week, we likely see all time highs soon, like QQQs at $200. JPM, WFC and GS are set to release earnings on Tuesday 10/15/19. Expectations are for good results.

So a 10% selloff seems unlikely with China on the back burner for now.....and the Fed proviing unnecessary support. Now that China seems to be in a cooperative mood (for now), the chances of a rate cut in October have decreased since the Fed has said it will expand its balance sheet.

Apple's key growth driver in 2020 will be a new $399 iPhone, top analyst says

lol - How cute, Apple has graduated to the likes of Microsoft and HP to being a mega-corp that can never innovate or learn their lessons of stupid moves.

How so? The iPhone SE 2 at $400 I might consider buying, particularly if a carrier offers a discount. Any of Apple's other offerings at $1k+, forget it, not my market. Apple is a phone maker that has some legacy business units (computers, tablets, music services, etc.) that it hasn't jettisoned because they still make money. Apple's cloud service haven't been able to reach out beyond its device user base and I don't see that changing. I suppose they could jump on the IoTs bandwagon and sell some spy crap for the home.

oil going up, again. :(
I got stopped out of my $100k short.
and of course after I get stopped out, oil prices drop like a brick.
freaking oil manipulators.
I bet they see my stop order and artificially drive the market down to snatch it. :(

wish I could hide my stop orders from being seen by others

They were built on "woke" individuals lining up to buy overpriced phones with old features that are 1 generation behind.

So they are trying to target the other market... the "We're not dumb" market... I honestly have to say it is far too late.

Android has been there with the latest and greatest of features (finger/face recognition, better cameras, etc.). If someone wanted a "budget" Apple phone they just bought the last generation used.

I mean as much as I hate Apple - I'm honestly saying this from a financial perspective - I don't see customers buying AAPL if they haven't already used. They exploited their up-tight and snoody crowd of paying $1k for a phone. That is their market - and they aren't going to be expanding. Just MHO.

Its too scary to short oil at these prices. Sure, it could go lower, buts its fallen so much. Too risky. If WTI can break the phsycological barrier of $50, then it might find a home in the mid $40s. Im not an expert in oil prices, so take that with a grain of salt. Also, once heavy selling sets in, the "manipulators" find ways of jacking up the price of oil....that or profit taking in short postions is going on. Not really sure.

I made a nice little bundle on some QQQ calls today. Like I said earlier, $200 on the QQQs might be around the corner. Also the S&P is back at 3,000. I bought some $192.50 calls for $1.10 this morning and dumped them for $1.66 before Europe closed. Nice little 47% daytrade profit.

If the QQQs keep going higher, we are talking profits in the HUNDREDS of percent just this week (trading weekly options). However, if earnings stink .... or some bad news pulls the market back tomorrow .... you might be siting on a big loss. And its very easy to lose money on options.

ever since that chart expert predicted the s+p 500 will drop 10% last week, it's been climbing ever since!

I put the odds at 20%. Things just aren't so bad. I think Wall street will be disappointed and then turnaround.

Remember they are doing it to prop up the stock market, not because of economic reasons.

So by the way - with every single major investment bank now doing free trades... Does that mean the likes of Robin Hood just went bye bye?

If so, I thank them for starting the movement.

Robinhood is the only one doing free options. Of course options are a bad bad idea for the kind of userbase that Robinhood has, soo....

91% now for cut. I will say that it would be a fitting day to shock the market and not do the cut, being Devil's Night and all.

I threw $1000 into one of those robo-investing IRAs at Schwab a few months ago, just to see how it does. To be honest I kind of forgot about it. It asks you some vague questions about your age and financial goals and then sets it up.

I checked today to see how it's doing. lol- the piece of shit has made, in three months....

a grand total of twenty nine cents. That's right - I'm on track for a yearly return of ONE DOLLAR! I'm retiring right now.

Probably net loss after quarterly or monthly fees that haven't been accounted for yet heh.

I guess the board got tired waiting for the 737 max fix.
Boeing ousted a top executive, Kevin McAllister. He was the head of Boeing’s commercial airplanes division.

[/URL]

Commence the jokes about Kevin beI guess left home alone ;)

I was really thinking of buying some shares of Boeing after this whole ordeal unfolded, but I'll be honest... Wall street (at least thus far) hasn't over-reacted yet on their stock price. Soo... not touching it.

BA is truly bizarre. They announce 3rd qtr profit down 50%, worse than analysts predicted but BA is currently trading up 11.26 (3.34%) today.
(Ok, so BA thinks they will be allowed to sell the 42 Max they are making each month)
