Stocks naturally want to go up in a bull market, even one thats already 10 years old. These days its somewhat rare to have a flat day of trading.
If the market has a choice, it chooses to go up.
All that being said, unless earnings start off particularly bad next week, we likely see all time highs soon, like QQQs at $200. JPM, WFC and GS are set to release earnings on Tuesday 10/15/19. Expectations are for good results.
So a 10% selloff seems unlikely with China on the back burner for now.....and the Fed proviing unnecessary support. Now that China seems to be in a cooperative mood (for now), the chances of a rate cut in October have decreased since the Fed has said it will expand its balance sheet.
