I didn't see it as negative or positive, i clicked on a link that i got from a thread on xtremesystems.org, i though interesting rumour and posted away, beside here most have taken it for what it is and just commented on OBR and the possibility of GPU boost feature on the cards and moved on.

You did nothing inappropriate dude. They are just miffed that it's an AMD "rumor". If it was an Nvidia "rumor" you wouldn't hear a peep from these people, but you'd hear from a different group. hehe. Such is forum life.

Indeed, no point in me worrying about it.
The OBR guy does ring a bell now but he clearly didn't make a lasting impression on me for me to readily recall.

BS. You know the rules here, if it's rumor it should say so in the title.

Anyways, here's a link to the VR-Zone video benchmark for Batman:

100 average FPS @1080p. Pretty crazy.

Strange it doesnt show real time FPS, only min, max and avg, didnt even see those change....Looks real good though, shame there is no PhysX, plenty of horsepower available for it by the looks of it.

Edit - Oh, i see the realtime frame now.....f&rken hard to see in pink?

OP, put 'rumor' on the thread title to stop the flamers. Seriously this forum is getting out of hand lately with all the negativity. The OP joined back in 2007 and he is considered new because of his post count. :whiste:

OBR pulled that blog post, guess that's it.
Many of his articles have mysteriously disappeared, especially ones where his predictions turned out to be completely wrong. I think this forum should follow some of the others I frequent, posting his stuff could result in you being banned.

TBH, the story smelled fishy from the get go. AMD (and Nvidia) have wisened up over the years to know that pulling something like this might easily get discovered, become a scandal and bite them hard in the ass in the end. I doubt either of them would do it. If the card was showing some odd frequency readings, I would put it down as a glitch rather than some nefarious undertaking.

Done and will do so in the future seeing as some members here clearly need their hand held in working the obvious out which is not a problem on other forums i go to, as for adding 'rumor' would of stopped the flaming is very unlikely as it clear that some are intent on flaming anything they don't like or which is not their preference when reading some of the other threads since i started reading here this year.

I registered when i first started to read Anandtech articles/reviews, i didn't read the forums.
My first post here 02-04-2012.

well according to the review on the front page it has GPU boost or powertune boost or super uber boost or whatever name but the clocks are definitely not faked.

I haven't read it yet, but there was some truth to the rumor ?, pity that OBR has to spoil what he gets right with the rubbish he puts with it.

Well, in his bias he said they were "faked." Really, he lost any credit he had for saying that. A loss of functionality -- that will be returning later, as mentioned in the AnandTech review -- is not the same as "faking" clocks. It just goes to show that the guy that runs OBR is a gigantic tool.

So you spend lots of time on a hardware forum but don't know how Nvidia names their GPUs? How embarrassing.

Post stuff without a soruce is what I call embarrasing...again thi thread is not about me...but your missing sources are quite funny 😉

Whoa whoa. Hold on there Hoss. Nothing indicated the OP even thought it was a rumor. So why would he put it in the title? He did so now just to shut some folks up in here. I just want to make sure that you understand that the presence of the word rumor isn't required if you don't think it's a rumor. Just quote the source in title. Either way, that would not have stopped the attacks on the OP. I trust you know that.

Agreed, although I'm glad the title is fixed now. There are still people out there who don't realize The Onion is satire, so I'm willing to believe the OP thought this was true/confirmed. Troll-pages gonna troll...

So now people aren't responsible for what they post?

How about I start posting anti-Nvidia stuff as fact and just claim "Hey, I didn't know it wasn't true!".

I find it interesting that Nvidia's 670 and 680 default boost speeds are different then what they really hit. For instance - My EVGA is at stock right now. It hits 1197mhz boost speed. The stock speed is actually 1084 boost. AMD does the same thing and they get slammed.

I don't see anything as confirmed until i see the reviews and its the first time that i have gone to that site.

Indeed there was nothing to indicate that, i didn't know that it was required, there is nothing wrong though with people pointing out that it is required here, but some people are taking it past that point and just looking for an excuse for an attack because if it was not that it would of been something else.

Once again -- citations are not needed for common knowledge. Just say that you're completely ignorant of how Nvidia has named their GPUs since Fermi, and I'll be more than happy to provided sources. I may laugh at you though.
