The knots you are tying yourself in to attack Obama but excuse Palin are painful to watch. Particularly interesting about you bringing up Obama's voting record is that while running for President McCain was by far the worst offender, missing a third of all votes.

You're trying really hard to construct a narrative in your head, I can see it from how you post. You've already decided that Obama is a failure and it's because people elected him on style, not substance. Not only is declaring a President a failure after 10 months absurd, it appears that Obama is on the verge of passing not only a huge stimulus bill, but the largest overhaul of the nation's health care industry that has taken place since the 1960's. He appears to be about to succeed where so many have tried and failed in the past, and that's a pretty notable accomplishment.

You don't have to like his policies, but you should work harder to ground your criticisms in reality. There are tons of things not to like about the guy, but bullshit like this post doesn't help you.

Palin abandoned the governorship in the middle of her first term to go on a book tour. That is the singularly most irresponsible action that I have ever seen a public official take. (not the worst, as there have been plenty of criminals who have held office, but the most irresponsible)

I'm no great fan of Obama, but he's not a quitting turnip. As everyone knows including the OP that Obama moved to a higher office, which is something that Reps do as well as Dems. That's how one generally moves the the top Executive slot.

Palin on the other hand announced that she wasn't going to run for reelection because she didn't want to be a lame duck, and by the way she might as well quit now. She deserted her post to go on a book tour.

Besides her cucumber-like quality of being unable to assimilate a basic understanding of the world around her, she also shows that when the going gets tough, Palin gets running- away.

That's a positive quality for a President? I don't think so.
 
I can tell you for certain nobody around here gives a rats ass about Sarah Palin. She has no support in the the northeast and most of the east coast for that matter until you probably get further south to the billy bobs(Chicks with guns FUCK YA!).

I'm wondering where we're hiding all of our smart politicians. Well, not really, I guess I've come to realize that a brutally honest liberal or conservative will never get elected since the Presidential election is purely a beauty pageant, and you have to play the political game to get the attention of the masses (and the attention of the corporate sponsors).

come on... look at 2008; the candidates endorsed by the republican talking heads that democrats hate so much gained absolutely 0 traction with actual voters when it came down to it.
 
Morons that wander around proudly touting Obama's approval numbers need a quick history lesson. Go look at past president's approval ratings per time, and then just slink back into your hole.

As for Pawlenty, I'm not sure where you get "bandwagon" considering I'm actually from MN and have observed his career since Pawlenty has been governor of this state for 2 terms. He's served 5 terms in the state house of representatives including having been selected as house speaker prior to his 2 successful runs for governor in a particularly "blue" state.

As for his record... given the current administration's habit of spending money Pawlenty's willingness to actually force government to live with a balanced budget in his 2 terms as govenor seems like a very resonant message for the American people. He also put forth a program that rewarded high school students in the top 25% of their class with 2 years of free college education, 4 in certain high demand programs (technology and sciences in particular). He has proposed allowing the importation of cheaper prescription drugs from Canada though I'm not sure how I feel about his proposed expansion of MinnesotaCARE.

Contrast this with a president who, when asked, cited his "journey of self discovery to becoming president" as his primary qualification for being president. Prior to that he did an amazing job of self promotion while conducting a book tour for personal gain and campaigning for president even while skipping out on his responsibilities as a senator.

Fascinating, and how is Obama planning to fund either of these albatross programs? Borrow/print more money and let the next generation pay for it and then play accounting tricks that would land anyone in the private sector in prison, right? If you're thinking a public opinion turnaround for Obama is in the works based on him passing a second stimulus (the first is a PR nightmare) and this mess of a healthcare bill (that a majority of americans don't support) you need to ground your expectations in reality. He best have something better up his sleeve if you expect to see a second term for this president.

My analysis of Obama's failure is based on his performance thus far and the plans and goals he's presented for future policy direction. He overpromised to get elected and now as the butcher's bill is coming due people realize he will never be able to deliver what he promised, the honeymoon is ending.

As far as my comparisons of Obama to Palin I am simply pointing out the hypocrisy of criticizing her without realizing just how similar she and the current President are on so many levels. I have never inferred Palin is my first choice as a Republican nominee - I actually find the opposing cult of personality on the right around this candidate disturbing for the same reasons (style over substance). I find the lack of objectivity on the left to the current president's shortcomings while hammering Palin on what are effectively the same issues deliciously hypocritical.

That prick increased taxes, but called them "fees" instead and claims taxes didn't go up.

That prick supports increasing ethanol percentages even though ethanol is a terrible fuel.

That prick supported raising my taxes in order to build a stadium for bunch of rich assholes.

There are plenty of reasons not to like Pawlenty.

I'm aware. I'm saying its typical for a President to start off high, then drop, then come back up. Especially if they took office during some sort of hardship.

One being he comes from Minnesota. The only good things that ever came out of Minnesota is Prince and Fran Tarkenton.
