My work is starting to prepare for the possibility of making people work from home but not sure if it will happen. With that case in Sudbury though....it's pretty close to home now. The person who got it was in a mining convention in Toronto and given this is a mining town there may be people from here who attended as well.

Would be pretty sweet if this turned into a new thing where they let people work from home all the time. I doubt it though, it's wishful thinking. I had asked if on days where there's lot of people in the office if I could just do training from home instead of showing up and they said no. So they won't just let people work home willy nilly unless it's mandated by the government.

Yeah, that's what people are saying. I'm actually at the point where I'll probably threaten to leave if they don't give me flexible hours and be able to work from home as needed (not related to the Coronavirus).

Anyone know if ozone kills most viruses and how long stuff should be exposed?

Just realized I actually have a package coming from China. It was ordered before this whole thing happened, but I didn't realize it was actually from China until I started to look more into it as it has not arrived. I presume it's been delayed but it will probably arrive eventually and better play it safe and decontaminate before I open it.

Might get an ozone generator. Of course... that's probably going to come from China too lol.
Ignore Scotty's fake thumbnail and clickbait title. He's legit.

Wish every car driver had one.

As far as my employer is concerned, we are still bound by our telecommute policy and for the number of days we have to report we are to report until the company declares something otherwise. I like to think of my employer is actually trying to use the situation as a pseudo-surplussing tool in which they get rid of headcount without being blamed for directly doing so. Cynical? Not if you know who I work for.

So are they getting the attendee list for the convention and contacting them for testing? This guy was in downtown Toronto. Fucking great. Don't feel like going to work now.

We are dropping the ball so hard.

I think they are but I don't know how official it is. Like if someone didn't see the news article I don't know if they're like, actually getting a call, I think it's more of a "if you went there you should get checked".

Honestly I think at this point there should be a full country wide lock down for like 2-3 weeks where people don't have to go to work, all events are cancelled and people need to stay home as much as possible. Like you would be allowed to go visit family and such to trade supplies or what as people would need to start to ration supplies to some degree, but by having a full lock down it would essentially stop the spread. Stop all flights etc too, and close gas stations, everything. All major countries would need to do it at same time.

Make it so at the end companies and people get compensated for lost time, it should be some kind of contingency plan for any event of this nature. The compensation could happen at tax time as they could base it off how much money you made in the last 7 years vs this year or something.

The only reason the world goes on is because people need to get paid. But if it was a government mandate where they also compensate then I'm sure people would be more than happy as it would almost be like a free vacation. It would actually be kinda cool.

One thing about being somewhat older is that you can realistically expect to be gone before the world gets a whole lot more stupid.

Problem with that is that the Stupid is accelerating exponentially.

Yeah, Umm, No.

Perfect example of the Stupid mentioned previously.

Lol I have some kind of virus myself and everytime I cough in public I'm thinking "hope nobody thinks I have coronavirus". Been 2 weeks and now I'm starting to wonder if it maybe IS coronavirus. No sense in calling in sick anymore everybody at the office already got it anyway, we're all immune now. :p We've jokingly been calling it the mini coronavirus.
That's not a conscientious thing to do. If you are contagious you should make every effort not to pass the virus onto others.
FYI:

My M.D. general practitioner cousin, when I brought up covid-19 ten days ago, said to be sure to not be vitamin D deficient. He said it's an important component in maintaining a healthy immune system. I believe that would mean enough exposure to sunlight and/or a supplement. I bought a bottle of D3 at Costco 9 days ago. I'm pretty sure it's 50mcg, little yellow transparent soft gels, 2000iu.
ugh, due to a medication i take, i recently found out that i basically have no vitamin d at all. i wonder if that's why i have felt like crap for over a year.

my chest has hurt on and off for over 6 months and doctors did tests and were like "idk everything looks fine". but one of them finally decided to check vitamin d levels.

at least my doctor just prescribed me some 50000 IU pills
How does everyone feel?
i feel like you need to use the multi quote button more muse!
i take 5,000 iu in the morning of vitamin D for fun, also take multi, a vitamin e, a glucosamine, b12 complex, then i decided since i take all these vitamins maybe i need to take liv52 pill to help my liver rebuild it self from all this vitamin usage :p my blood tests are great, feel amazing always, yea the 30,000 or 50,000 are once a week pills, 6 months of tests? how about just 1 full blood test that you can order your self brianmanahan? i get mine from healthonelabs https://www.healthonelabs.com/tests_offer/buytest/201/ they have coupons and sales often, the tests are ordered by some dr online that you never even speak to :) just go to the lab give them 7 vials of your blood and bam test results in 24 hours. Im super lazy to go to the dr and argue with them about needing a test or wanting a test and then returning to the dr for the results of the test. i guess its usually 30 min wait time but it always seems longer when you are around sick people in a waiting room :)

about soctty being legit: honestly...scotty is a fucking ridiculous mechanic. his car knowledge is ancient and trapped it in that "the toyota corolla is the only valid car ever" mentality. he's hilarious, but please don't let that guy touch any car built after 2000.

So .. all travel / cargo with Europe suspended for 30 days.
See, now we're talking about some appropriate measures.

I have a co-worker in Spain on vacation right now, because he's an idiot. I wonder if he's going to have to rent an apartment for a month.

Half of his videos are about Toyota's fall from grace.

Not all. Britain is not included in the suspension. Probably because Trump doesn't consider them part of Europe anymore after Brexit. Of course my next trip to Europe routes through Heathrow so I'm not sure if I'll have to continue waiting to see if BA wants to be generous with their cancellation policy (not their strongest quality)
