That's not a conscientious thing to do. If you are contagious you should make every effort not to pass the virus onto others.

Well obviously, but in a case like that you would have no way of knowing. My point was about how people say they have a good immune system because they never get sick and someone said but they DO get sick they just don't get symptoms, well as far as they are concerned they aren't sick, it's the symptoms that make you feel like crap, and if you don' t have them... well you just feel normal. So far far as I'm concerned it means not feeling sick.

Statistically speaking, there's a better than 90% chance that we are all already dead.

Actually I think the NHL has been looking at having games without any spectators, I bet that would feel odd for the players. It would almost be like a practice. I guess all the TV crews would still be there though, I assume.

Surgical face masks (50 pcs) are on sale now on Amazon for over $30 (at least) and more ($60 and up). And I thought they were expensive at pharmacy stores before the hysteria ($15 for 50 pcs before discount coupon).

Now if only Japan and IOC will do the right thing and postpone or cancel the Olympic Games. But Japan is too proud and stubborn and IOC is too greedy to do the right thing. But perhaps they can surprise me.

Yeah it's crazy they are not postponing the games. At very least wait until a vaccine is available, then require everyone that attends to have the vaccine. Move them to 2021, and still have the 2022 games to keep the scheduling the same.

Tests indicate coronavirus can survive in the air (for hours)

Federally funded tests conducted by scientists from several major institutions indicated that the novel form of coronavirus behind a worldwide outbreak can survive in the air for several hours.

A study awaiting peer review from scientists at Princeton University, the University of California-Los Angeles and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) posted online Wednesday indicated that the COVID-19 virus could remain viable in the air "up to 3 hours post aerosolization," while remaining alive on plastic and other surfaces for up to three days.

"Our results indicate that aerosol and fomite transmission of HCoV-19 is plausible, as the virus can remain viable in aerosols for 42 multiple hours and on surfaces up to days," reads the study's abstract.

The test results suggest that humans could be infected by the disease simply carried through the air or on a solid surface, even if direct contact with an infected person does not occur. That finding, if accepted, would come in stark contrast to previous media reports that suggested the virus was not easily transmittable outside of direct human contact

They were talking about maybe delay the game until next year or two years. Stay tuned.

Landslide of Universities canceling in person classes and events (really too many to mention at this point) . If any haven't yet they will very soon. Many NCAA games will be played in front of family and media only.

Anyone know if ozone kills most viruses and how long stuff should be exposed?

Just realized I actually have a package coming from China. It was ordered before this whole thing happened, but I didn't realize it was actually from China until I started to look more into it as it has not arrived. I presume it's been delayed but it will probably arrive eventually and better play it safe and decontaminate before I open it.

Might get an ozone generator. Of course... that's probably going to come from China too lol.

Anyone's work tell people to work from home yet? I'm sure mine will be one of the last holdouts.

Anyone that says that this virus is going to be a minor incident is wrong. I'd like to see your qualifications, because Dr. Fauci has a different opinion.

This will probably get bad. How bad? Real bad.

Well that's not good, getting closer to home!

3 hours away.

Suppose to go this Easter weekend for a hockey tournament... I don't like the idea of that now. But if I don't go I'll be spending Easter alone since all my family is going.

Again, we aren't taking this seriously. If we were in China everyone would be on lockdown. Those games would be canceled. Your family would be home.

Sadly, it seems that we are going to have to learn the hard way.

This thing is negatively impacting my wifes small business. She hasn't had a customer since last Thursday. My company has shut down it's main offices so people can work at home. The real kicker is they still have tons of hourly people working in close quarters in production.

I personally deal with 5 vendors. We all deal with each other. I worked with 3 of them in the last week. A person at one company tested positive but can't say who the person was. I had to deal with one of them today. We stood about 6 feet apart talking and when I needed to fill out an invoice he set it on the counter and backed away. I walked to the counter and filled it out and backed away and then the guy moved forward to pick it up. We never lost eye contact...

My work is starting to prepare for the possibility of making people work from home but not sure if it will happen. With that case in Sudbury though....it's pretty close to home now. The person who got it was in a mining convention in Toronto and given this is a mining town there may be people from here who attended as well.

Would be pretty sweet if this turned into a new thing where they let people work from home all the time. I doubt it though, it's wishful thinking. I had asked if on days where there's lot of people in the office if I could just do training from home instead of showing up and they said no. So they won't just let people work home willy nilly unless it's mandated by the government.

So are they getting the attendee list for the convention and contacting them for testing? This guy was in downtown Toronto. Fucking great. Don't feel like going to work now.

We are dropping the ball so hard.
