So I went to two Wal Marts (one large one and one smaller Market Place one) and one Kroger after work today. The darn places were very much packed in and out.

NO WATER and NO TOILET PAPER of any kind. Full Stop. Period. Unbelievable. Even worse than all the snow storms and hurricanes and such for the last 20+ plus that I have been in this area.

I took a few pictures with my phones but too lazy to upload them now. Might do that tomorrow.

Why are you going to Walmarts and other stores right? Are you insane or do you just like punishing yourself?

I want to know about fast food and restaurants. Are people still eating out? Are the crowds and traffic smaller or about the same at fast food restaurants like McDonald's? That's kind of crowd source information is potentially valuable and useful to me.

I have to pay a couple bills at the Money Center inside WM for a client. That's why I made the trips to WM's. Kroger did have good sales such as eggs ($0.99 for 1 dozen large eggs) and they were all out but the potato chip bags and dip bottles were available ($2/each). Gatorade bottles 32 oz are $0.77/each but you do have to buy 10.

I think fast food places were down. I drove past two Waffle House places and they were very dead inside with about 1 or 2 customers. That's odd. Wendy's and McD's are not as crowed as usual.

I went out to dinner earlier this week and yesterday ordered a pizza.

The boss sent an email this afternoon instructing all employees to take their laptops home tonight in case corporate decides to implement mandatory telework next week. I don’t think that’s going to happen but it’s a whole new world out there.

I haven’t seen this kind of society-wide uncertainty since 9/12. Interesting times.

There's a growing sentiment that some states will implement martial law (however you want to spin it) very soon. You might not be able to get the laptop if you didn't have it.

Chick-fil-A was packed with teenagers today in Newnan, GA because the high school is closed.

I went out for a couple drinks tonight and I have to agree with the additional observation that there is a certain anticipation and anxiety like what accompanies the wait for a hurricane to hit. It is not a good feeling.

Personally, I get a fair amount of stuff left on my porch. Am I assuming there are no SARS-CoV-2 spores in/on that stuff? No siree.
Saw a story on the news tonight (I don't trust all news, not this, especially) that packages delivered to you in cardboard boxes can be considered safe from contamination in 24 hours. They said steel and plastic surfaces, 3 days. I'd heard 7-9 days for those before. YMMV! Same source evidently said that the virus can survive in the air for up to 3 hours. I'd heard more than that. Is it "airborne?" They were all saying no, only in droplets from sneezing/coughing. But some experts are evidently saying it IS airborne. I don't know what to believe in all this TBH.

The Chinese seem to have managed considerable containment now, but the measures they used are going to be hard to get going in the US.

A huge question now is how long immunity lasts for recovering people. The jury's out on that one. Professionals just don't know, but suspect that it may not be more than a month to a few months. Developing a vaccine might be critical.

I heard Trump is looking for a new surgeon general. You might want to apply based on that information.

I just realized something or maybe I am stupid.

The easiest way to catch the virus is on your mobile device most likely sense we bring the device home with us and continue to use it. We put out hands on it constantly even after touching doors, stair handles (at least if you touch them I rarely do unless I am feel like I am going to fall), etc.

Maybe I am wrong.

I've been using a little uv sanitizer at work before I go home. Just pop it in for 10 minutes and it's done.

And of course stripping naked in my front yard and burning my clothes before I go hug my kids.

Ive noticed here in southern California, not many are yet practicing social distancing. I happen to drive by a Popeye's and people were crotch to crack in line...

Yeah, for real - I fucking hate and REFUSE to buy groceries during the weekends on just NORMAL weekends. Put in a fearmongering with flooded stores and I would rather find 2 year old stuff in my freezer over going to a store that packed.

As far as restaurants - I stopped by a pub yesterday (Thursday) night to get a beer at the bar and a dinner to go, and it was decently busy. Looked like a normal crowd.

My experience in DFW today was maybe 30% of normal lunch crowd and 50% of dinner crowd.

Went to WH tonight, it was good as usual. Noticed they had stashed the menus and wiped them down before handing them to us, same old community sticky sugar dispenser though.

Agreed, why does this make me excited?

All those time frames are based on a new study from two days ago, the only one to actually try to figure those number out to my knowledge. What was not determined was if you could actually catch it at the max time frame.

And no we are not going to accept the Chinese measures, they are the opposite of our culture. We will suffer for that but imo that is what gives us our strength.

If Tom Hanks and his wife don't get sick and the virus leaves their system in a month then I bet they will be an inspiration for millions. It may even start the beginning of the end of this crisis. And I heard some other people who had the virus recovered and the virus exited their bodies but Hanks is worldwide famous.

But they can afford to stay quarantined for as long as needed, they don't have to work to keep living. So on a practical note things could still get worse by the working population who can't work at home. But we'll see what happens if both of them test negative in the coming weeks.
