I really dont understand why anyone would want any company/system to fail. I hope all 3 do well to prevent a Monopoly which would most likely drive up prices of the remaining systems/accessories.

I seriously doubt that Nintendo can compete with all that.
The best-selling console in history? Kinda like Nintendo's other consoles were before SONY came around? I remember people saying the exact same thing back then. Trust me on this one, unless there is a monumental shift in the way Nintendo does business, they'll be squashed by SONY.Originally posted by: RagingBITCH
lol. Slowly kill the Gameboy? It's the best selling console in history. The GBA and GBA SP are both backwards compatible with pretty much any GB game made before it. Unless N changes media formats or makes their newer system incompatible with their huge game base, Sony won't have a chance with the POS or whatever it's called. And um, the PS2 never killed off the Cube.Originally posted by: Krassus The driving minds behind the cube need to be fired and replaced by people who have at least some idea what the hell they're doing. I knew it would fail the day i saw the first photo of this thing - clearly they lost 75%+ of their client base by making it look like an 8-year-old girl's lunchbox. Sales may have quadrupled, but all that happened is that they went from downright horrible to marginally acceptable. Nintendo still has the GameBoy, but when SONY comes out with their own pocket system, it will slowly kill off the GameBoy just like the PS2 killed off the Cube.

The XBox and Gamecube both have SUPERIOR hardware to the PS2. The PS2 total sales > Gamecube + XBox sales, combined. What's your point?Originally posted by: Jetblade Have you even seen the specs for what the PSP will have. There is no way in hell Nintendo is going to be able to compete.

Yeah, tell 'em that specs are only things geek boys care about. Nintendo handheld have always had the advantage because they understand the market like nobody else. Who wants to play a handheld game system? A geek boy that has $300 lying around in his pocket or some kid who saved up $69.99 over the past 3 months on his paper route to play on his ride to school. Does anyone is who is capable of blowing earning enough to blow $300 on something to play around with have the time to play with a little handheld video game device? I mean anybody that has a full time paying job drives to work, and has better things to do with their free time than play handheld games. I have a GBA, but for the $80 I paid for it, I don't care if I use it for 3 hours a year. I will not spend $300 on something I will use for a couple of hours every year. As for the kids who all this free time on the school bus and in the playground - they better have rich parents who spoil them or they're not getting PSP or N-Gage. There's a reason why Nintendo has owned this market from the very beginning - they understand it.

Werd....id pay 300 for a console super system but no freaking way would I pay that much for hand held. Besides....I don't think Sony's system will be as drop resistant as my gameboy has been. 🙂Originally posted by: sxr7171Yeah, tell 'em that specs are only things geek boys care about. Nintendo has been taking baby steps with its Gameboy series.
Sony on the other hand takes a big a$$ freaking leap with the PSP by making it have graphics on par with the PS2. Not only that....but Sony is also going to market it as a portable multimedia player capable of playing video and music. Which it where it certainly has plenty of past experience with.

Why would you need PS2 level graphics on a 3" screen?
As the Sony loyalists say "It's the games, stupid."
So until they release a huge A title list, there's no guarantees about it's success.

Lies, The PS2 had crappy launch titles, And it sold very well. Most of the games were crap long after it launched.Originally posted by: BoberFett Why would you need PS2 level graphics on a 3" screen? Gamecube is "worth" just as much or more as the other consoles. It's all a question of what games you want to play.

The GC has the crappiest line up so far, They only have a few key titles that people actually want, And don't tell me "oh, you think it's a kids console" no, EVERY FVCKING NINTENDO CONSLE WAS A KIDS CONSOLE! This has been there plan from the beginning. Nintendo just can't make a good console developers and users like, besides the GBA. Nintendo really needs to give up on the hardware front.

Sorry you bought the wrong console, but if you want those few key titles so badly that you lose your self control I suggest you get a Gamecube. :sun:

All that with a price tag of $300-400. Handhelds are portable, cheap, and fun entertainment, one of the pinnacles of the Gameboy series' success. Sony's is going to be big and bulky if it can play regular DVD movies and CD music. Sounds like more of a novelty than a bonafide competitor. Much like the $300 NGage

The new Harvest Moon is Gmaecube exclusive, I think. And once Viewtiful Jow is released all of your friends will point at you if you don't have it.
And you should read a preview of the Rogue Squadron, it's going to be great !
